We all have a threshold. A limit where our brain starts whispering, “Don’t get your hopes up.” It’s self-protection. It’s human. You’ve been there before—excited, expectant—and then it fell apart. So now, hope feels risky. Naïve. Too soft. Too exposed. But here’s what I’ve learned: When hope feels fragile, it doesn’t mean it’s gone. It means it’s asking for gentler handling.

Welcome to week 5 of the Hope Project Guided Audio Meditation.

Hi,

I'm Mark.

Find a quiet place to be.

You don't need to do anything perfectly,

Just be here.

Let your body find a comfortable position.

Let your eyes soften or close completely if that feels safe.

Feel your breath.

Not as something to control,

But something to notice.

Inhale and exhale.

Let your shoulders drop just a little.

Let your jaw loosen.

Let your heart arrive.

This is your time.

Time to come back to yourself.

Time to come back to trust.

Let's move through your body with curiosity.

Start at your feet.

Notice the contact with the ground.

Let your ankles relax.

Your legs.

Feel into your hips,

Your belly,

Your chest.

Let your spine rise softly.

Let your shoulders fall back.

Let your arms be heavy and safe.

Bring your awareness to your face.

Release your jaw.

Soften your brow.

Unclench the space between your eyes.

Your body remembers what safety feels like,

Even if your mind doesn't.

Let your breath be your anchor.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Now imagine you're standing in a quiet place in nature.

Somewhere soft,

Peaceful and steady.

There is no rush here.

No pressure.

No performance.

You are safe.

And just a few steps ahead of you stands you.

A version of you that feels grounded,

Trusting.

They don't have all the answers,

But they're not afraid of the questions.

They've lived through some things,

But they're not closed off.

They smile at you.

Open.

Warm.

Like they've been waiting.

Walk toward them.

Slowly.

Gently.

You don't have to merge with them.

Just notice them.

Notice how they carry themselves.

How their chest rises when they breathe.

How their eyes soften when they look at you.

This is the version of you that trusts again.

Now hear these words as if they're being spoken by that version of you.

The one who trusts.

The one who is healing.

You don't need to believe every word.

Just let them move through you.

I am allowed to rebuild trust slowly.

I honor what I've lived through.

I can listen to myself without judgment.

I don't have to know the whole future to move forward.

My hope matters.

My wisdom is returning.

I can trust myself again.

Let those words settle in like roots beneath you.

Like light above you.

Come back to your breath.

Back to your body.

Back to the space around you.

Notice what's shifted.

What's softened.

What's still tender and still okay.

Place a hand on your chest or your belly and say quietly to yourself or out loud I don't need to rush.

I trust this process.

I trust myself even just a little bit more than before.

And when you're ready open your eyes.

Welcome back.
