Tattwam Asi translates literally as "I am that." It is also translated as "I am that which I seek." It is originally a Sanskrit mantra. Tattwam Asi is a mantra to help the chanter focus on their intent, to be mindful of their goals and to reinforce the mindset and behaviors that they wish to embody. It reminds us that even though we must start where we currently are, that we (and everything and everyone) are constantly changing and that we have the ability to become what we wish to be in thought, action and word. It is a simple two word mantra that has enormous power to reinforce the changes we are making to grow and expand our conciousness, spirituality and souls. Namaste. Greetings and salutations.

This is Margaret.

Thank you for choosing to practice with me.

We are going to explore a Vedic mantra,

Tatvam Asi.

The literal translation of this mantra is,

I am that.

It can also be translated into,

You are that which you seek.

In our meditation practices,

We seek to find our true nature and bring forth our true self into our day-to-day existence and busy lives.

Using this mantra will help you to become all that you are in potential.

It will permeate every cell in your body and your mind with the joy of the universe and help you to stay present regardless of what is going on around you.

I will repeat the mantra a couple of times before we begin chanting.

Tatvam Asi.

Tatvam Asi.

I hope you have a good day.

I hope you have a good day.

I hope you have a good day.

I hope you have a good day.

Please find a comfortable way to sit and allow your eyes to gently close or go into a soft focus.

Take a deep breath.

Be conscious of where your body contacts either with your meditation cushion or the chair or the floor.

We will chant the mantra 108 times together.

Take just a moment and meditate on the mantra and notice any sensations that you feel physically or emotionally after chanting.

Take a moment to consider your intent with this practice.

What is it that you seek?

Who is it that you wish to be?

May this practice help you become that which you seek and that which you wish to be.

May each of you walk in the light of the divine and be blessed with peace,

Love,

And joy.

Thank you for sharing your practice with me.

Namaste.
