Hi there.

My name is Bill,

And welcome to your 5-minute meditation.

Each 5-minute meditation is designed for people who just need a quick reset during their day,

To focus on themselves,

Take a breather,

And relax.

This 5-minute meditation focuses on 7 simple rules for life.

Sometimes I think we all need reminders that,

In this world,

It's okay to say that you are the most important person to yourself.

And within that truth lies another,

That we need to take time to distance ourselves from the negative and sometimes corruptive people in our work or personal lives.

To understand and know that what others think and say are only their opinions.

They are not based on your truth,

Your life,

And most of all,

Your inner peace.

Before we begin,

Find a place where you won't be disturbed.

Once there,

Find a comfortable position,

Either lying down,

Sitting,

Or standing.

Make sure to choose a posture where you will be as comfortable as possible.

Now,

Relax your neck and shoulders,

Resting your arms by your side,

Close your eyes,

And breathe in and out slowly,

As controlling your breathing helps your body relax,

Calms your mind,

And settles your heart.

Rule number 1.

Make peace with your past,

So that it does not affect your present.

It's not fair to yourself to always have the weight of the past always on your shoulders,

And making peace with it,

Acknowledges it,

And allows you to let it go and move on to bigger and brighter things.

Rule number 2.

What others may think of you is none of your business,

Nor should you care.

Live a life that is empowering to you.

Rule number 3.

Time heals almost everything,

So be kind to yourself,

Be patient,

And give yourself that time,

So that you can heal and be made whole.

Rule number 4.

Don't compare your life to others,

And don't judge them.

As much as they don't know about your life and your journey,

You do not truly know theirs and what their journey is all about.

The only person you should try to beat is the person you were yesterday.

Rule number 5.

It's alright to not know all the answers,

So stay calm and know that those answers will come to you when you least expect it and when the time is right.

Rule number 6.

You are in charge of your own happiness,

No one else.

Don't give anyone else the power to dictate what makes you happy and when you should be happy.

That power belongs to you and you alone.

Rule number 7.

Don't ever forget to smile,

At least once per day.

Even if it feels like it sometimes,

You do not own all the problems in the world,

And you deserve that smile,

Even if the only one who sees it is looking at you in your mirror.

Taking these few minutes for yourself is a way to be kind to yourself.

You deserve that.

As you continue to breathe in and out,

Use your breath to anchor yourself in the moment,

Knowing that this time is for you and you alone.

Remember,

Taking just a few minutes to recharge yourself is something you deserve to do for yourself,

Especially when the weight of the world seems particularly heavy.

You can and should congratulate yourself for taking care of the most important person in your life,

You,

And taking all of your negative thoughts and turning them into power and freedom.

Wherever you are,

You are amazing and deserving of a few precious minutes of calm and peace,

And you are never alone.

Have a wonderful rest of your day or night,

And I extend my well wishes of healing and of peace to you.

Until next time,

Be well.
