Hello my friends,
Welcome to spring.
Today we're going to take a moment to tune our body,
Mind,
And souls to the call of the spring season.
Find a comfortable seat,
It can be in whatever way feels comfortable for you,
But I encourage you,
If you can,
To choose a seated posture,
If that's available to you,
In order to tune into the aliveness of the spring season.
Spring is a time of birth,
Growth,
And beginnings.
The melting of the winter snows and spring rains draws closer to the water element.
This time of year is great for starting new projects,
Flexing your creativity,
And planting seeds.
It's also a time to start eating more greens and lighter foods after the heavy fats and roots of the winter.
In the spring you may find yourself getting up a little bit earlier than usual,
Excited for the day ahead.
Energy is high,
So it's a great time to get outdoors,
To move your body,
And to explore new ideas and new routines.
Let's go into our practice.
I invite you to close your eyes,
If that feels comfortable for you,
And take a few deep breaths with me.
Breathing in the bright sunshine of spring and breathing out the dark and cool winter.
Breathing in,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And hold.
Breathing out,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
Breathing in,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
Breathing out,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
One more time.
Breathing in,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
Breathing out,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold.
And just relax now,
Bringing your breath back to its natural rhythm.
Now imagine that you're walking through a field full of spring crocuses and daffodils.
The trail beneath your feet is muddy and smells richly of hummus.
The wet soil giving birth to the new grasses and flowers of spring.
The bright sun is shining down on your face and it feels warm and comforting as you continue walking.
The birds are singing an upbeat tune.
You can still taste the crisp taste of spring onions and salad greens from your recent lunch.
In the middle of the field is a blanket.
A basket with freshly picked flowers and herbs is on the blanket and a big pillow.
You decide to lay down and rest your head on the pillow,
Letting the warm sun rays warm you like a blanket.
Relaxing on this beautiful spring day,
The birds chirping,
A very light breeze blowing,
Tune in to how your body is feeling.
What is coming up for you?
How does your body feel?
What does it need?
What does your body want you to know right now?
Thank your body for giving you any insights and vow to give it what it needs.
Now place a hand over your heart and just feel into your emotional self right now.
What is coming up for you?
What does your emotional self need from you right now?
What are your emotions telling you right now?
Thank your emotional self for giving you any insights and vow to give it what it needs.
Take a deep breath.
And another.
Next,
I want you to focus on your mental self,
That part of you that can sometimes spin like a hamster wheel where your thoughts go racing by.
What does your mental self need from you right now?
What is your mental self telling you right now?
Thank your mental self for giving you any insights and vow to give it what it needs.
And finally,
Shift your attention to the place just above your head,
About six to ten inches where your crown chakra rests,
The seat of your spiritual self.
What is coming up for you?
What does your spiritual self need from you right now?
What is your spiritual self telling you right now?
Thank your spiritual self for giving you any insights and vow to give it what it needs.
Now take a moment to review what your body,
Emotions,
Mind,
And spirit need most from you right now.
If it feels overwhelming to focus on all four of these things,
Then just pick the strongest feeling.
What are you most drawn to doing right now for one of these parts of you?
Hold this thought above all others that may be swirling around.
Lean into it just a little bit more and listen.
You can begin now to come back into this world.
Maybe wiggle your toes and your fingers,
Stretch wherever it feels good,
And open your eyes.
I hope this practice has brought some clarity to you from your intuition,
Some thoughts on what you truly need in this moment.
I encourage you to take action on the most important messages you received.
That was your intuition speaking to you.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
Until next time.
