Hello and welcome to your meditation practice.
My name is Moon DeSimone and it's my honor to be guiding you through a traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice called the Mentor Bonding Technique.
We'll begin by taking a comfortable seat on a cushion or a chair,
Resting your hands on your knees or thighs and the spine to be nice and long.
Allow your eyes to rest closed or gently gazing at a space in front of you,
Relaxing your jaw.
Imagining yourself feeling at ease and connected as you just sit up with intentionality and grace.
Bringing your attention to your breath,
Simply becoming aware of your breathing at the tip of your nose.
One breath in and one breath out.
Just gently settling your attention in your breathing,
In your body,
Right there at the tip of your nose.
As you begin to gently land into your heart.
And as you settle into this moment,
Just notice how exceptional and capable your mind is.
Imagine as if you could,
Directing your own transformation towards the intention to awaken for the benefit of all beings.
And now settling into your breath once more and slowly begin to take in your image of the world,
Your impression of the world as it appears in your mind right now.
Just visualizing what does the world look like in your mind in this moment.
And imagining that with each breath,
This idea of consistency slowly begins to dissolve.
Knowing that everything you believe to be there,
The entire image of the world in your mind,
Slowly starts to melt and dissolve.
Even the body melts,
Everything slowly dissolving.
And now visualizing an open field,
A clear space,
Filled with possibility.
And you imagine yourself entering into this space.
In the center of this field,
Imagining your own personal mentor,
A great teacher,
Someone you admire and you feel connected to.
Begin to take in their face expression,
Their delicate open eyes,
Kindly looking at you.
Their reassuring smile,
Their warm posture,
Receptive,
Totally receptive to you.
Take a moment to feel what it's like to be right here with them.
Imagining their presence.
Imagining looking up with reverence and asking what would your life look like if you were more like that.
Imagine yourself to be inspired,
To admire.
Visualizing yourself with respect and reverence.
Feeling the connection,
The openness,
The feeling of safety perhaps.
And now bringing to mind something that is holding you back,
Perhaps an old tendency,
An old way of thinking.
And letting that become clear to you.
As your mentor holds that with you,
With absolutely no judgment.
You begin to invite some remorse as you are aware of this negative behavior.
It could be the antidote to this behavior.
And the mentor is your support to let go of this old tendency.
Taking a long breath in and as you breathe out,
Visualizing yourself becoming free from this tendency.
And now bringing to mind something positive,
A new seed.
Something you have been working on.
Allowing yourself to rejoice,
To gently celebrate on your power to conquer as you continue to find the best within you.
Take a moment now as you ask your mentor for guidance.
For the help that you need to stay in this path of transformation.
Asking for their guidance to purify all addictive behaviors,
Cravings and clinging.
Breathing in your mind,
I kindly ask your support as I am ready to be free.
I am ready to make a change.
And once more,
I kindly ask of your support as I am ready to be free.
I am ready to make a change.
You recognize that they are delighted to share,
To support and model to you.
Build this new way of being.
And now you imagine this light coming from your mentor's heart.
This healing protective light that illuminates all that has been in darkness.
And with that,
You begin to see everything as possibility,
As love and compassion.
That light begins to resonate through your whole body and mind.
You realize that you are now in alignment and you take a vow to continue this practice.
You begin to see the world being restored and refreshed.
As love and potentiality permeates.
And as you take a breath,
This light now comes back through all hearts,
Villages,
Nature,
Comes right back into your heart.
That same resonance.
That is your reminder.
That is your我们.
Now you ask kindly for your mentor to keep helping you.
Ask your mentor to remain with you always.
Repeating in your mind,
I ask you to please continue teaching me.
Be my guide,
My companion.
Continue to allow this practice to soften my heart.
Help me continue to learn.
Asking your mentor to stay with you as you navigate this next part of your journey.

And now imagining yourself again in that open space of possibility.
And suddenly you are back here,
Yet you still feel the resonance in your heart.
The potentiality and expansion you just experienced stays with you.
Outside maybe looking like an ordinary person,
Yet inside a true teacher.
And as we begin to bring our practice to a close,
Gently taking a moment of gratitude.
For yourself,
For taking this time for this practice.
Landing into your breath one more time.
