Good morning my fellow morning people and thank you for joining me on this journey into a fantastic new day.
I am the morning person,
Your co-pilot on the flight to Nirvana.
Gandhi said that each night when I go to sleep I die and the next morning when I wake up I am reborn.
Do you feel that way when you wake up?
Sleep is a pretty crazy thing when you really think about it.
The nervous system is relatively inactive.
The eyes are closed,
The postural muscles relaxed,
And consciousness all but suspended.
How crazy is that?
It seems natural that everything needs to recharge but why?
There are so many constants in physics.
Why is energy not constant?
Well,
Energy is constant and it's abundant.
When we recharge or enter sleep mode we are really just taking time to tap into the constant energy and recharge our power source,
Recharge our minds,
Our thoughts.
The brain is not the power,
The thoughts are our power and sleep is one way to connect to the great battery pack.
We must take care of ourselves to keep our energy packs charged and one way to make sure is that we get enough sleep.
Another way to care for ourselves and recharge is through meditation.
Meditation not only helps recharge but it also helps improve your sleep.
So think of meditation as a double way of caring for yourself.
Today we're going to use the word caring as our mantra.
Let's go ahead and get started with our meditation and in doing so taking care of ourselves.
Go ahead and get comfortable.
As always you can sit or lie down,
Just make sure you're not doing anything that like driving or anything else that requires your attention and you'll be undisturbed for the next 20 minutes.
We're going to start by taking a few slow deep breaths,
Clear out the stale air and get some oxygen flowing.
We'll breathe in through our nose and out through our mouths making sure to blow out as much air as we can when we exhale,
But exhale slowly.
Let's begin.
Breathe in,
Exhale,
Breathe in,
Exhale,
Breathe in,
And when you exhale I want you to return to your normal breathing.
Go ahead and move around a little bit and get fully settled.
Now I want you to say with me seven times out loud and then seven times whisper our mantra caring.
Ready?
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring,
Caring.
Now continue to repeat the word caring to yourself until you hear the last gong.
If your thoughts drift just go back to the mantra.
The key is not to force it.
Just let your thoughts go and then return back to the mantra caring.
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
