Welcome,

I'm Morgan Webert and this meditation will boost your immune system by reducing your stress levels.

Prolonged stress impacts all areas of life negatively,

From sleep and digestion to productivity and happiness.

But it also has a huge impact on our immunity.

The increase of stress hormones such as cortisol suppress immune function by lowering the number of lymphocytes or white blood cells in our bloodstream.

Using techniques such as meditation,

Breathing and visualization to calm the nervous system and reduce stress hormones will support your immune system functioning optimally.

Let's prepare ourselves to do just that.

Find a comfortable seat or lay down.

Allow the eyes to close.

Take a deep breath in and a long open mouth exhale out.

Allow your breath to deepen.

Deepening our breath has an immediate calming effect on the nervous system,

Lowering stress hormones and improving immunity.

Bring your awareness to the breath moving in the belly.

Begin to amplify this breath movement in your belly.

Allow the belly to be soft,

Gently expanding and gently relaxing.

Let's continue to deepen our breath and relaxation into the four corners of the torso.

Opening our breath also improves our respiratory health,

Keeping the lungs refreshed,

Full of vitality and resilient.

Move your awareness now into the sides of your rib cage.

Allow the lungs and rib cage to expand.

Notice the lifting and falling of the rib cage.

Begin to amplify this movement by breathing more deeply into the sides of your body.

Imagine with each breath creating more space within and around you.

Breathing in spaciousness,

Breathing out stress and worry.

Bring your attention now to the back of your body and allow the breath to fill the back of your rib cage,

Softening the muscles in the back of the body with each breath.

Continue to breathe in spaciousness and breathe out tension.

Allow the body to soften.

When we relax,

All the systems of the body function more optimally.

Bring your attention now to your upper chest and heart space.

Allow a deep breath to fill up the top lobes of the lungs.

Taking in a deep,

Long inhale,

Top lobes of the lungs and a deep,

Long open mouth exhale sigh.

Inhaling from the belly all the way up to the collar bones and on the exhale feel the chest and shoulders relax.

Relaxing the throat and the jaw.

Breathe in a sense of well-being for yourself.

With each breath say to yourself,

May I be well.

Feel now all four corners of the body,

Belly,

Side,

Back and chest and the pulsation of breath moving within you in all directions,

Gently expanding,

Gently relaxing.

Imagine a warm golden light above your head holding your intention of well-being and health.

Begin to breathe this warm light in from the crown of the head.

Breathe it down across the face.

Bring the jaw into the throat.

Wrap this warm light around your glands,

Sending them the intention of well-being and vitality.

Blessing your immune system.

Visualize warm,

Relaxing golden light moving down your throat into your chest.

Allow your lungs to fill with your intention of well-being.

Imagine breathing in a warm golden light of health and vitality.

Down the chest,

Into the belly,

Around all of your organs,

Through the hips,

Down the legs.

Feel your whole body filled with this warm light of health and vitality.

Wish yourself well.

Bless your body.

Breathe deeply into the calm spaciousness you've created within.

Know you can use the breath at any time to return to this place of ease,

Boosting the immune system,

Filling yourself with vitality and well-being.

Taking as much time as you need to in this meditation.

And when you feel ready to come out of your meditation,

Move slowly,

Making small circles of the hands and feet.

Slowly opening your eyes into your day and holding this intention of blessing yourself with well-being.
