Hey there.
Thanks for being here.
And I'm sorry for your loss.
I have lost a lot of loved ones.
I'm very seasoned in grief,
Losing friends,
Boyfriends,
Family members.
And reflecting on the profound losses in my life has opened up a door to the depths of compassion and empathy.
Each story about each loved one that I've lost becomes a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the beauty that arises from pain.
Though grief is painful,
It has become a profound teacher,
Guiding me toward a more empathic understanding of others and their struggles.
And through the darkness of loss,
A light of compassion has emerged connecting me to the shared human experience of sorrow and joy,
And the intricate tapestry of emotions that make us beautifully human.
So bring to your heart and your mind someone you're grieving.
Bring your hands to your heart.
Breathe into your heart.
Inhale through the nose to the heart.
And exhale out the nose.
Breathing in the nose,
Out the nose.
Inhale the nose.
Exhale out the nose.
Hold space for the person you're grieving.
Grief just needs an audience.
We can't ignore or avoid it.
We have to give attention to grief and all the ways that it feels.
Know that it's okay to feel what you feel.
Grief teaches you and reminds you.
It awakens a mystery in life.
Deepen your breath and soften your shoulders.
Let your heart open.
There's things that we don't know.
But we do know,
As humans,
We all experience this.
And holding space for grief allows us to embark on a healing journey instead of spiraling down delusion and absence.
The only way through grief is through it.
Resilience and tenderness,
Compassion and grounding can emerge only when we engage with grief.
With emotion comes acknowledging it.
Where in the body you feel it,
If it's tears,
Let them flow.
Let your grief speak what it has to say.
And listen with compassion and curiosity.
Maybe a memory comes to mind or a story.
Hold space for what arises.
Spend a moment in acknowledgment.
Deep full breaths.
This is not easy,
But just because it's not easy does not mean it's not worth pursuing.
Nurture and notice your heart.
Maybe bring your hand to your cheek or give your shoulders a squeeze or self-hug.
Know that you're not alone.
Nurture and notice what comes up for you here in remembrance.
As we close our time together,
Bring one hand to your heart and one hand to your belly.
Feel your breath.
Feel the rise and the fall of your breath.
Now bring your palms together.
Place them over your heart,
Holding space.
You can repeat this mantra as often as you need.
May I be healthy.
May I be happy.
May I be free from suffering.
May I be safe.
May I be healthy.
May I be happy.
May I be free from suffering.
May I be safe.
Until next time.
