Hi,
This is Morgan at Splendid.
Yoga and we're gonna get started in a comfortable seated position and when I say comfortable I mean really comfortable.
Like all parts of your body are singing the praises of this position.
So rock around a little bit,
Move your shoulders,
Move your spine,
Move your legs around until you feel a spot that feels like,
Yeah I could hang out here for a while and be really happy about it.
Now take a big inhale through your nose and open your mouth to send it out.
Inhale in and imagine drawing energy up through your spine,
Your tailbone,
Through your lumbar spine,
That curve of the low back,
The thoracic spine,
That outward curve of the mid-back,
To the cervical spine,
All the way up to the base of your brain stem,
All the way up there and then hold it and then let it go really powerfully.
And then again inhale up from the tailbone,
Through the curves of the spine,
Up through the back of the skull and then over the skull and as you exhale imagine it's coming down through your face,
Over your chest,
Over your belly and then circling around as you inhale it comes up through your tailbone,
Through your spine,
Through your skull,
Over your hair,
Over your face as you exhale down your nose,
Down your throat,
Down your chest,
Down your belly and then inhale.
That loop rises up again at the back of your body and exhale it rises down and imagine that as for these next few moments that loop of energy drawing up from your tailbone as you inhale and circling around the front of you to connect with your tailbone as you exhale.
A few moments just to breathe.
Now keep that breath energy going.
Stay focused on that flow of energy but imagine the color red and that glow that's surrounding you as you inhale the color red rises up bright up the back line of your body and as you exhale that little bright orb becomes a little brighter down the front of your body.
Red is the color of the root chakra,
Muladhara chakra,
Your grounding chakra,
Your connection to your earth,
Your connection to your human self.
Now imagine the base of your torso,
The very bottom of your torso,
Like your pelvic floor.
Imagine like the anatomy of your pelvis,
Your hips and then right in the middle of there you have this stack of muscles,
This sheath of muscles.
Imagine those muscles pulling in and up towards your belly button,
Towards your heart.
So it's like those muscles when you have to stop peeing,
Squeeze those muscles up.
But can you relax the sphincter muscles?
That one's kind of hard.
Usually they all kind of want to go at the same time but play with the difference between squeezing the pelvic floor and squeezing your butt.
And really get that focused effort on squeezing the pelvic floor up,
Hold it,
Or if it's too much just to hold it,
Try a little pulse with the breath so as you inhale you squeeze,
You squeeze,
You imagine that red light coming up behind you and as you exhale you release the squeeze and imagine that red light sinking back right underneath where you're squeezing.
Mooladhara chakra,
The root chakra.
And that's it,
Just breathe,
Squeeze,
Engage those muscles and imagine as you're engaging the muscles you're really helping to like build the power that you're breathing in and as you relax the muscles you're spreading that power out all around you.
Inhale and hold it,
Squeeze it,
Let it build inside of you.
Exhale expand that light out to all sentient beings who really need your power.
Namaste friends.
