Hello.

Today we're going to go through a mudra meditation as outlined in the Mudras for Healing and Transformation book written by Joseph and Lillian LePage.

Today's mudra is called the Ida Mudra which is the gesture of the lunar nadi and it's meant for balancing the lunar channel of energy.

By bathing in soft moonlight energy I open to my receptive feminine qualities.

The core quality of this mudra is receptivity and it is especially helpful for awakening our lunar feminine qualities including softness,

Fluidity,

Pleasure and sensitivity.

It can help to reduce stress and blood pressure.

It can also help to relieve inflammation.

To do the mudra you will touch the tips of the ring fingers to the tips of the thumb of the same hand and extend all the other fingers.

Place the left hand just below the navel with the palm facing upward and place the right hand slightly above the left palm down so that the joined fingertips of the right hand are directly above the joined fingertips of the left hand but not touching them.

Relax the shoulders back and down with the elbows slightly away from the body and the spine naturally aligned.

Ida in Sanskrit means comfort.

It is the name for the lunar nadi or the subtle channel of cooling energy that runs along the left side of the spine from muladhara chakra at the base of the body up to the third eye and then down the left nostril.

Ida nadi is associated with chandra meaning moon and also with calming colors such as light blue or a silvery moonlight.

We can deepen our connection to this Ida nadi when our awareness is naturally drawn inward and we can cultivate intuition and inner listening to help guide ourselves on our life journey.

Ida mudra activates the free flow of energy within the Ida nadi naturally supporting us in connecting with our lunar receptive qualities.

This gesture brings breath awareness and energy to the left nostril left lung and left side of the body.

It can calm and slow down the breath while lengthening the exhalation and activates the parasympathetic nervous system to promote deep relaxation and restoration.

So now let's begin the guided meditation nourished by soothing moonlight.

As you hold the Ida mudra take several natural breaths to attune to the feelings and sensations awakened by this gesture.

Notice how your breath is naturally directed into your left nostril while expanding your left lung and enhancing the awareness of the entire left side of the body.

For your next few breaths sense the whole left side of your body expanding gently with each inhalation and softening with each exhalation.

As you deepen your awareness of the left side of your body you naturally become more sensitive to your receptive feminine qualities.

You will awaken these qualities more completely by bringing awareness to the Ida Nadi the lunar channel of soothing refreshing energy.

This channel of energy runs along the left side of your spine from your root chakra up to your third eye and then down the left nostril.

With each inhalation cooling moonlight ascends and with each exhaling breath it flows back down to the base of your body instilling a sense of soothing refreshment.

Take some time to follow this upward and downward movement of silvery moonlight energy naturally cultivating a sense of calm and serenity.

As you experience this greater serenity visualize yourself floating on a soft moonlit sea naturally absorbing all of your receptive and feminine qualities.

Begin by receiving the quality of fluidity the ability to flow with the life cycles and seasons more easily.

Take several breaths to sense the quality of fluidity moving up and down along the left side of your spine with Ida Nadi.

With greater fluidity you absorb the quality of sensitivity enhancing your ability to listen to your body's messages naturally unfolding your powers of inner healing.

As you integrate fluidity and sensitivity the quality of intuition awakens naturally providing inner guidance for your journey.

As you breathe along Ida Nadi take some time to receive any messages from within that clarify your life's deeper purpose and meaning.

With greater intuition and sensitivity your essential creativity unfolds naturally enhancing your ability to give birth to new possibilities that express your life's deeper meaning.

Now take some time to breathe up and down the Ida Nadi sensing the unfolding of all of your receptive qualities allowing you to flow with life stream more easily experiencing pleasure even in simple things.

Finally we will affirm your receptive qualities by repeating the following affirmation three times aloud or silently bathing in soft moonlight energy I flow with the rhythms of life more easily bathing in soft moonlight energy I flow with the rhythms of life more easily bathing in soft moonlight energy I flow with the rhythms of life more easily.

Now slowly release the gesture taking a few more breaths to bathe in the soothing moonlight.

When you are ready open your eyes returning slowly and gently more attuned to the receptive qualities of Ida Nadi.

Thank you for joining me today.
