This meditation features a very calming and soothing piece of music with acoustic guitar improvisation. It's also considerably longer than previous ones so you can go deeper. The reading is from a book by the Sufi writer and mystic Idries Shah and is about friendship. As always you can meditate on the ideas contained in the written piece or not, as you wish. Enjoy! Story: Caravan of Dreams by Idries Shah

Hi everyone and welcome.

My name is Mohamed Nizam and I'm talking to you sometime in the middle of January of 2021 here in London in the United Kingdom.

Before we get into the reading for today and the music,

I'd like to tell you a little bit about the music.

In the last few music clips I've been using a lot of technology.

There have been synthesizers,

There's been electric guitar,

There's been guitar synths.

So for this one I thought I'd go back to something very,

Very,

Very simple.

So it's a backing track composed by myself with an improvisation on acoustic guitar and this track is actually quite long.

People have been asking for slightly longer tracks so I thought I'd do something with a bit more time to it.

And this one,

The intent behind this is to be very calming and very soothing and very centering.

So I hope that you can find those qualities in it or whatever qualities that you are looking for yourself.

OK,

So the book that I'm going to read from is an old book by a Sufi writer called Idriss Shah.

Idriss Shah was of Iranian descent and so his world view comes very much from the kind of cultural situation that he was in,

His heritage which is Muslim.

So there's that kind of prism that he was looking at the more spiritual elements from.

And the book Caravan of Dreams,

I found that in a library when I was 16 and then I found a used copy that a library was getting rid of and selling.

So I bought my copy for about 10p and it's literally falling apart.

The pages are tumbling out of it.

I'm not sure how much longer it's going to last.

But this particular,

It's very short what I'm going to read and it's just the question.

The question is why.

A man said to a dervish,

Why do I not see you more often?

The dervish replied,

Because the words,

Why have you not been to see me,

Are sweeter to my ear than the words,

Why have you come again?

So on with the music and I will hopefully see you again soon or speak to you again soon.

In the meantime I wish you,

Your family,

Your loved ones,

Your tribe,

Your nation and the whole of the manifest universe all the best.

Good luck.

Bye bye.

You

I loved the music. I wouldn't stick around for the dervish though. That's just neglect 😉
