Wherever you are right now,
Just take a moment to pause.
Find your breath.
Inhale deeply through your nose.
Exhale through your mouth.
And then you're going to do like that,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Deep inhales through the nose,
Fill your belly with breath.
Exhale and let it all go.
Inhale let your belly expand,
Let your chest lift.
Inhale like you're turning a release valve and emptying completely.
Let your inhales be so big that you feel your back ribs expand and contract.
Letting your eyelids close if that feels okay.
And you relax the hinges of your jaw.
Soften your belly.
Slow your heart rate down by slowing down your breath.
Now shifting to breathe in and out through the nose.
And seeing if you can find just a slight constriction at the back of your throat.
As though you're fogging up a mirror but keeping your mouth closed.
Creating this ocean wave-like sound with your breath.
Ujjayi Pranayama.
Allowing each wave of breath to wash over you.
The reverberation of each exhale to create space in your heart.
Keep going in and out through the nose.
Slight constriction at the back of the throat.
Each breath softening and relaxing.
Dissolving any anxious thoughts or feelings that are present.
Rest your palms on top of your body and press your feet flat on the ground.
Arrive in your body.
And here.
Remember that your mind is a storyteller but your body is the wisdom keeper.
Continue to breathe into it.
And your breath all the way down to the soles of your feet.
And then all the way through the soles of your feet and into the body of the earth.
Feel the way she holds you.
Allow her calm,
Grounding energy to become yours.
Feel yourself becoming more present with each breath.
Stay here with the breath for as long as you need.
May you move through your day with ease and grace.
And may you have compassion for yourself in the process.
