Transcript
Welcome to your yoga nidra practice,
To the art of conscious sleep.
My name is Miranda and I am truly honored you chose this practice to guide you to the place deep within,
Where energy rises,
The constructs of self fall away and you merge into that place of bliss where the soul's portal opens.
This yoga nidra honors and calls upon the divine feminine energies which reside within each one of us.
The divine feminine lives within every religious and spiritual tradition,
Here to be discovered and encountered on every wisdom path walked upon this earth.
She is the way of openness and of soft surrender,
Of wild hopeful compassion and tender mercy,
Of embodied love and gloried sweetness.
She flows full freely through grief and sorrow and lifts us up again into the sweetness of joy.
She is the soul's surrender,
The infinite yes.
In this practice we embody that yes by taking the yogic pose of shavasana.
It's a comfortable nest for yourself,
Laying yourself down upon a firm but comfortable surface like a yoga mat,
A couch or your bed.
Bring in blankets and pillows for warmth and support and it can be nice to bring in an eye pillow to help draw you deep within.
This is a practice of falling away,
Of letting go,
Of coming home.
Set yourself up with that intention and begin to bring your body towards shavasana,
Lying on your back with your spine straight and your arms and legs a little way from the midline.
Your palms facing the sky.
Feel the softness and the openness of your body in this pose.
And always remember that if this position doesn't feel good to your body,
To respect your own needs first.
Perhaps today it feels good to rest your hands on your heart or on the belly center.
Perhaps it feels better to lie on your side or in a seated position where you are fully supported.
This practice will help you to release tension,
To welcome in relaxation and rest.
Allow your body that full freedom as you take your pose.
And as we drop deeper now into our own presence,
Begin to feel and sense into your body.
You might like to rub your hands together,
Palm to palm.
Feeling the energy building,
The heat.
Placing your palms over your eyes.
Feeling the warmth calling you home.
You might like to move your palms on the skin of your face,
Along your neck and collarbones.
Bringing your hands to your heart.
Feeling the goodness of skin on skin contact.
And now bringing your hands back to their resting place.
Keeping your body still for the remainder of this practice,
To allow your nervous system to completely rebalance.
You might like to draw in a few deep breaths here.
Calling breath down deep into the belly and letting it expand like a balloon.
Let breath pour out the mouth,
Releasing an aside exhale.
Begin to imagine a rose light forming all around you.
It flows and it swells within your own body and grows outwards through your center,
Expanding into the space around you.
Feel the rose light grow.
Warm,
Soft,
Tender.
And as you bathe in this rose light,
We'll go deeper into the body,
Bringing presence deeper into this moment.
Bringing awareness to the crown of the head.
Feeling the warmth of your presence here.
Begin to bring your awareness down through the body in a scan,
Like a radar beam of awareness.
Bringing the light of your own consciousness into every cell.
Breathe smoothly and fluidly at your own pace.
Think about this thousands of years ago.
And now you're fully present in your own body.
Bring awareness to the space of the heart.
Feeling the rose light glowing here.
We'll begin to invite in Sankalpa.
Sankalpa is the seed that we plant into every yoga nidra practice.
Our deepest intention and desire for our life.
Feeling sense into the space of the heart.
And ask here,
What am I most longing to feel in my life?
Allow the answer to come any way it comes.
No need to grasp.
Feeling sense into the energy that arises.
And now let that energy transform into words.
A short statement of intention in the present tense.
As if it is already complete.
Some examples of Sankalpa could be.
I am whole.
I am full of light.
I walk with love and compassion.
I am open.
I trust.
Pick one Sankalpa that feels good to your body and your being.
Allowing its energy to spread.
Running wild through rivers in your body.
Running wild through rivers of grace.
Pouring through the core of your being.
Spreading to your widest extremities.
Allow your Sankalpa to fill you.
From your deepest root to your sweetest blossom.
And now the practice of Yoga Nidra begins.
You'll move awareness through 61 special points of the body.
Feeling and sensing into each part as I name it.
You can imagine a drop of warm fragrant oil being placed in each location.
Feel warm honeyed oil soak into the forehead.
The space between the eyebrows.
Warm oil in the centre of the throat.
Warm oil in the right shoulder joint.
The right elbow.
The right wrist.
The tip of the right thumb.
Second finger.
Third finger.
Fourth finger.
Fifth finger.
Warm oil at the wrist.
At the elbow.
At the shoulder.
Warm oil at the centre of the throat.
Warm oil at the left shoulder joint.
The left elbow.
The left wrist.
The tip of the left thumb.
The second finger.
The third finger.
The fourth finger.
The fifth finger.
Warm oil at the wrist.
At the elbow joint.
The left shoulder joint.
Warm oil at the centre of the throat.
Feel warm oil poured into the centre of the heart.
Warm oil in the right side of the chest.
In the heart centre.
The left side of the chest.
The heart centre.
Warm oil at the solar plexus.
The centre of the pelvis.
The right hip.
The right knee.
The right ankle.
The tip of the right big toe.
The second toe.
The third toe.
The fourth toe.
The fifth toe.
The ankle.
The knee.
The hip joint.
Warm oil poured into the centre of the pelvis.
The left hip joint.
The left knee.
The left ankle.
The left big toe.
The second toe.
The third toe.
The fourth toe.
The fifth toe.
The left ankle.
The left knee.
The left hip.
Warm oil poured into the centre of the pelvis.
Soaking into the solar plexus.
The heart centre.
The throat centre.
The eyebrow centre.
Warm oil through the whole body.
All the points of your body receiving honeyed oil.
Let with your awareness,
Your whole body.
And as you bathe,
Soak,
Melt and merge within this honeyed nectar,
Begin to feel the whole body breathing.
The whole body releasing breath.
The awareness soak through the whole body as you breathe.
Let awareness soak through the skin and into the space around you.
Awareness explores the space around you.
And now call the awareness back into the space of the body,
Filling the body walls.
The body breathing.
Let awareness begin to play with the space inside and outside the body,
Moving freely from one to the other.
Let the walls begin to dissolve and you feel yourself as all.
Awareness permeating all space.
And in this spaciousness,
We'll play with different emotional experiences,
Inviting the experience of opposite states in the body.
Release any stories that arise in the mind,
Allowing sensation to move through the body.
Begin by calling in the experience of sourness,
Biting into a sour cherry,
The tang on your tongue.
How does your body respond to the idea of sourness?
And awareness of sourness releases as you call upon the experience of sweetness,
The sweetness of a ripe strawberry.
Your body experiences sweetness.
Feel sweetness as sensation in the body.
And now release sweetness and invite the experience of hardness in the body.
How does hardness feel in your body?
Welcome the experience of hardness now.
And as hardness releases,
You call upon softness,
Softness experienced in the body now.
Experience of your body soft.
And as softness releases,
Grief arises like a wave.
Feel grief in the body now.
Your body and the experience of grief.
And grief releases too,
As joy rises in its place.
Call joy into your experience now.
Feel joy singing through every cell in the body.
And as joy too releases,
We'll come into an exploration of the wisdom body,
Your creative,
Intuitive self.
Bring awareness to the dark space behind the eyes.
Shifting your gaze to the center of your forehead and imagining the space transforming into a movie screen on which images will appear and pass by.
Let them arise in any way that they come,
Remaining open to all experience.
Open palms.
Rosary beads.
A woven shawl.
Crystal clear notes on a piano.
The smell of lavender.
A waterfall of honey.
An aching bird.
Deep sadness.
A well of water.
Falling rain.
Green shoots in spring.
A swallow's nest.
A budding rose.
Abundant blooms.
An open temple.
Golden light.
You find yourself walking in a rose garden,
Large and lush and filled with blooms of all colors.
Amongst the roses grow herbs.
Rosemary and lavender,
Sage and thyme.
And between them rise the roses.
Great flush rose bushes,
Abundant with pink and yellow blooms all around you.
Little white blooms trail across arches and as you pass through,
You reach up and touch their leaves.
Lovely with the dew.
The air is filled with their lovely scent.
Light citrus and tea and heavy,
Rich myrrh.
Together this cacophony of scents blends into one lovely song which draws you on.
Something familiar is pulling on you.
So you walk through the garden with its little low walls and release yourself out into the wild space beyond,
Where the grass runs high,
Speckled with wildflowers.
Black brie bushes ramble,
Twined with wild dog roses.
Above you are tall,
Spreading trees,
Through which cool summer rain is falling.
A warm breeze ruffles your hair,
Flying freely,
Caressing soft cheeks.
It whispers through your fingers.
All around you green plants are nourished and relieved by the falling rain.
Droplets on petals,
Spilling to the earth,
Roots gratefully soaking it all.
As you walk on the wet grass,
Your feet bear,
You begin to see there are footprints already pressed into the grass in front of you.
You follow them on,
Winding through hedgerows,
Trailing your fingers in the dew.
The path marked before you by the wet footprints in the grass.
You begin to hear the musical song of water nearby.
The water moving and flowing,
Rushing along.
As you round a corner,
You see her,
Seated upon a bank,
Fingers trailing in the river,
Flowers in her hair.
She looks up and meets your gaze,
And you are held in warmth and in light.
Your whole body relaxes.
A smile is radiant joy,
Her eyes brim with loving sadness.
Her tears are falling into the flowing stream,
Washing clean the earth.
Holding her hands out to you,
In tenderness,
She invites you to let your own tears fall.
As they fall,
They mingle into the cleansing waters of the stream,
Washing away downhill as she feeds the landscape with her watery soul.
As you rise,
You see she is holding a clay jug in her open palms,
Holding it out to you.
You find yourself drawing closer,
The liquid within is singing to something in you.
As she pours the liquid into your hands,
It is warm and thick like fragrant oil and honey mingled.
You drop this nectar on your tongue and taste its sweetness.
You feel it in all of yourselves,
Your energy singing in resonance.
There is something forgotten but ever present,
Growing and blossoming in you in the warmth of this love and this light.
It is drawn into radiant unfolding by this singing of nectar.
She takes the jug from you,
Pouring oil into each of your palms.
Each palm forms a glowing circle of honeyed light.
You merge with this golden nectar of light.
You blend it with these Your being sings with radiant light.
Your being sings with radiant light.
In the bliss of this radiant belonging,
Your sankalpa is returned to you.
As you feel the energy of your deepest desire for your life sweeping through your whole body,
Your whole being,
Infused in every breath.
Repeat the words of your sankalpa three times.
And now,
As the practice of yoga nidra comes to an end,
Bring your awareness home to your physical body.
Call your awareness back into this time and this place.
Feel the warmth of your body.
Move your tongue around the inside of your mouth and swallow.
Bring breath deeper into the belly,
Feeling it grounding your presence into your physical body.
Feel the weight of your spine as it lies upon the earth.
As you feel ready,
Begin to invite in small movements,
Your conscious awareness inhabiting your body in every movement.
When you feel ready,
Roll into the fetal position on one side.
Lie here in this position of rebirth for a few peaceful moments.
Bring your body to a seat,
Placing hands over your belly centre or your heart.
Whatever feels good to you in this moment.
Remember the rose light from the beginning of practice which has held you through this sacred time,
Letting it infuse your whole being now.
I invite you to remember that the divine feminine energy resides within each one of us,
Sometimes in treacles or streams or rushing rivers.
She is always inviting you to swim in her seas,
Dive in her pools,
Allow the mysteries to unfold.
Let her embodied yes be yours.
The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.

Thank you, that was a deeply emotional healing for me. My upset, crying inner child came to visit and I was able to comfort her and reassure.. It was not what expected, however it was totally what was needed. Blessings and gratitude for supplying the platform. Namaste. 🙏💜
