Hi,

This is Ron Levine from Mindfulness in Blue Jeans and this is a mindful visualization called colors.

Sometimes when I'm focused purely on the breathing,

I begin to see it in terms of color.

I often see the in-breath as a yellow,

Warm,

Bright,

Energized,

Sustaining.

As the in-breath arrives,

I don't need to force it anywhere,

But just allow it to go where it needs to go.

And I often see the out-breath as purple,

Darker,

Heavier,

Denser.

And there's nothing wrong with the purple.

It's not a poison that I'm expelling.

It's just what's no longer required.

It's already served its purpose.

And now it's ready to leave.

You may find that different colors resonate with you.

As you observe the quality and the length of the in-breath,

However it happens to be,

You might notice a color association of your own.

You might be able to see that color spreading throughout the body with each inhale,

Going wherever it needs to go.

And likewise,

You might notice a color association along with the quality and the length of the out-breath,

However it happens to be.

You might see or feel a release as we let go of what is no longer required.

We're not pushing it away.

We're not kicking it out.

There's nothing wrong with it.

It's just no longer necessary to hold onto it.

Simply allow whatever is ready to leave to go.

With each in-breath,

Notice its texture and whatever energizing,

Sustaining color you might associate with it.

And then you might notice the pause between the in-breath and the out-breath and the shift in texture and color.

As you release whatever denser,

Darker,

Heavier color association you have with the out-breath as you let it go.

Notice if you're trying to control the breathing.

It's not necessary.

Simply allow the colors to move,

As they will,

And watch and feel what that's like and how they move and shift and come and go,

Arise and pass of their own accord.

They know what they're doing,

And they can take care of themselves.

If you're feeling tension in a particular area,

You might notice the in-breath color going to that area,

Infusing that area,

Bathing that area,

And the out-breath color taking away and releasing what's no longer needed from that area.

And your only job,

Your only job is to watch how it plays out on its own without interference.

The guided session will stop here,

But I invite you to continue watching your in-breath and its color,

Your out-breath and its color.

See how they move,

They shift,

They might even start to meld together and just become one constant color.

Just notice what happens for you,

And thank you for sitting with me.
