Welcome to this talk on practical tips to help you build a consistent meditation practice that you will just love coming back to.
There are many beautiful benefits of having a regular meditation practice,
But my by far favorite one is that daily meditation helps us reconnect with our inner essence of who we truly are and find clarity and peace in that.
And for this reason I wanted to offer some insight on how you can develop your practice into a daily habit by using simple ideas and methods based on how we adopt any habit really.
So without further ado,
Here are some of the ways that you can make your meditation practice a lasting one.
Find a way to signal your mind and body that it's time for meditation.
Find the same time and place that you'll meditate.
This way when that time of day comes you'll know it's time for your practice without really even thinking about it.
Or when you see the place where you usually meditate you'll be reminded to practice.
In the beginning it's also normal to explore for a little while to find what time and place works best for you.
Bear in mind that there is no one right way to do this.
Another way that you can signal yourself that it's time to meditate is by finding an activity after which you can meditate.
Find something you do every single day like having a cup of coffee or taking a shower.
By meditating right after that activity over time and with consistency it becomes a signal reminding you that it's time to meditate.
Find ways to make meditation something you're really excited about.
You can create a ritual around it.
This can include lighting a candle,
Diffusing or rubbing some essential oils,
Having a special place to meditate or brewing a nice smelling tea.
Find accountability and support by connecting with other meditators or by joining a meditation community.
This also helps you see meditation as something others do too,
Making it relatable and therefore more desirable.
You can also educate yourself further on the topic.

Its benefits and different ways of how to do it.
The practice itself should be as easy as possible especially in the beginning.
The frequency of your practice is much more important than the intensity of the practice.
If you're just starting out please know that even one minute counts,
Five deep breaths count.
When you get the hang of the routine you can slowly build your time up from there.
Another thing that you can do to simplify things is to listen to guided meditations.
This gives you more structure and you don't have to worry if you're doing it right,
How much time has passed or what to do next.
You can simply put on a guided audio and relax into it.
The famous Lotus pose with your legs crossed is not the only right way to meditate.
You can meditate sitting on a chair,
On a couch,
Even lying down if you're not sleepy.
Your posture should feel comfortable,
Relaxed but also wakeful.
This doesn't have to be the same thing for everyone.
And lastly find ways to reward yourself afterwards,
Letting your mind and body know that they did a good job.
This is especially important in the beginning.
In the long run the meditation itself will become rewarding but when we're just starting out an extra job well done push is more than welcome.
This can be having your morning hot beverage right after meditating,
Marking an X in your habit tracker,
Having a breakfast or a yummy smoothie right afterwards or having anything else you'd usually do in your day that feels rewarding to you.
I hope this offered you some insight.
I wanted to give you a myriad of ideas on how to simplify and automate the practice so you don't have to count on sheer motivation to build a consistent practice.
However,
Like with any content that you encounter,
Filter all of these ideas through your own intuition and work out the ones that make sense for you.
There are many beautiful guided meditations on my profile that you can listen to,
To get started.
Thank you for showing an interest in elevating your consciousness by adopting a regular meditation practice.
