This is a wonderful way to wake ourselves up from the daydream of our thoughts.
This is called a hand clapping meditation so you may have guessed what is coming up.
This is a bit of a noisy one so make sure that you are in a place that is not going to disturb others unless you would like to disturb them.
So holding your hands out in front of you with a shoulder width gap between them,
Holding them flat out in front of you facing one another.
Then after the count of three I'm going to ask you to clap your hands together three times.
I'd invite you to do this rather vigorously if you're with me.
So holding your hands out in front of you after the count of three we're going to be clapping together three times.
So one,
Two,
Three.
Holding the hands out back shoulder width apart,
Closing the eyes and breathing.
Sensing into the sensation in the palms.
Diving into the sensation of fizzing and tingling at movement.
The pins and needles,
The fuzzing and buzzing,
The temperatures,
The coolness and the warmth.
Breathing and focusing all of your awareness into the sensations of the palms of the hands.
Moving your awareness right into the tips of the little fingers.
All the way through the little fingers into the tips of the little fingers.
Into the ring fingers.
Into the middle fingers.
Breathing and sensing,
Fizzing,
Tingling,
Movement.
What can you feel in those middle fingers?
Breathing and releasing and focusing on the index fingers.
Noticing the sensations here and in the thumbs.
Breathing into the thumbs and expanding that awareness now into the whole of the hands and all of the fingers.
The palms of the whole of both of your hands.
And right to the very tips of the fingers and now just into the tips of the fingers.
Noticing how it's possible to move your awareness in this way and then expanding back out through all of the fingers and the palms of the hands.
Moving your awareness into the wrists now and into the backs of the hands.
The skin on the backs of your hands.
Breathing and focusing and allowing your awareness to travel up through the wrists and into the lower arms,
The lower arms and the elbows and the upper arm.
This is a wonderful exercise to wake us up out of the busyness of our minds and get us into the body feeling the body.
It's a wonderful thing to do to then lead into your own version of any of our meditations.
Particularly useful if you've got a very busy mind and you're wanting to do something like body scanning.
Means that we can re-approach and re-find the body and the sensations within it.
So following your breath now and moving that awareness of the aliveness of your body into different parts of your body.
And now as this audio comes to an end you can continue your meditation in your own way or you can just use this exercise as a quick fix.
A quick button to reset and re-awaken the senses.
Thank you.
