About finding a still point of stability and balance like a comfortable armchair where we feel aware and at ease within ourselves and the world around us. Try this practice to help recover stability and balance and see what difference that makes. Find somewhere undisturbed, sit in a comfortable, dignified and upright posture where you can remain alert and aware. Then close your eyes while this meditation plays.

Ringing your attention to your breath and following your breath for a few moments focusing on the sensations of breath noticing the cool air on the in-breath in your nostrils flowing into your lungs and the warmer air on the out-breath and as you're following the breath notice the still point the point where the breath turns around where for a moment there is no movement just a pause and then movement and see if you can find that point of stillness and maybe hold on to it as you continue breathing so resting in the stillness watching the movement becoming aware of any prevailing thoughts,

Emotions or physical sensations that may be already here and see if you can watch and observe these from the same point of stillness without getting caught up in thoughts following up on emotions just resting back within your body if you do have any strong areas of tension maybe bringing your attention to those areas say for instance around your neck or shoulders and see if you can allow that area to soften and relax as you bring awareness to it now see if you can imagine you're the sea with waves shifting up and down although there may be movement in your mind feelings flowing and physical sensations see if you can drop down below the choppy waves on the surface where all movement,

Pushing and pulling slows down to a point of stillness and see if you can find a still point where you feel stable and balanced and if you find this point while you're there use curiosity to explore what it feels like becoming familiar with the sensations of this quieter place free from mental noise and impulse swimming with your feelings but not being pushed and pulled by them and now imagine if you can your favourite armchair or other place where you like to sit in your mind's eye where you feel completely yourself relaxed,

Whole,

Contented and at ease sit yourself down and let the upholstery shape around you feeling comfortable but remaining alert and aware letting any tension or tightness in your body start to release allowing any emotions that are here to slowly dissolve back to where they came from and for this moment turning down the volume on any thoughts that are pressing for your attention aware of a space of no thought with silence and stillness free from movement where you can observe movement thoughts,
