Have you ever felt like,
Yes,
I can easily do that?
Or the opposite,
Where you really doubted your ability to perform something?
Or have you had situations where you felt,
Hmm,
Perhaps I failed here,
But that's okay,
I will learn and do it better next time?
This is where our confidence is playing a key role.
Self-confidence essentially means to trust and have faith in oneself,
A belief that you can fulfill a job or role in society.
A self-confident person is able to act on opportunities,
Rise to new challenges,
Take control of difficult situations,
And accept responsibility and criticism if things go wrong.
Most people base their confidence on extrinsic factors like achievements that they have in the external world,
A validation by others.
If they are criticized,
Their confidence goes down.
Usually they also compare themselves to others,
And if they feel below their abilities in something,
Their confidence suffers.
It is rarer to find someone with intrinsic,
Strong core values,
Someone who is unshakable by external factors.
Even if they fail,
There is an internal belief to learn from experience and get better next time without self-destruction.
Let's make sure you have the right blend to be confident and bold.
I invite you to find a comfortable space in the room.
Allow your body to take up the space.
You can sit in a chair or on the ground with your legs crossed.
As you settle in,
Allow yourself to drop into the present moment.
Together let's take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and gently breathe out.
And again.
And as you exhale,
Feel your mind and body relaxing.
Bring your awareness to your body's sensations.
It's weight,
The movement of your chest and belly.
Allow your eyes to close if you wish to,
Or keep them open with a soft,
Focused gaze at an object in front of you.
Notice the quality of your breath.
Bring your awareness to the state of your mind and your body.
Stay connected with your breath.
I want you to go back in some past time of yours and recall a moment when you felt absolutely confident.
It might be from your childhood,
Or a very recent time where you have accomplished something or just felt confident without any reason.
Bring that feeling of confidence back to your mind and to your body.
Can you notice where you feel this confidence?
It could be in your whole body or a particular place like your abdomen or any other place.
Become aware of that feeling.
It may feel like a flow of internal strength and power that fuels your body and mind.
This flow doesn't give any space for doubt,
Just pure confidence in every cell,
In every thought,
In every action.
Now imagine yourself in a beautiful building.
It can be your future office with a great view through the window,
Or any familiar place with a room that it feels good for you to be in.
You hear somebody is knocking on the door.
You allow that person to come,
And you see that it is the most confident version of you coming inside.
Make this scene play in slow motion.
Did you notice something particular about this person?
The confidence in the eyes,
Posture,
Voice,
Body language.
Something strong emanates from this person.
It's you.
Now go and get inside that person.
Feel that confidence in your body.
Notice how you can move and speak differently.
The world may look different when you are confident.
How does this world look when you are confident?
Feel these feelings inside you.
See how you are going through your daily life with such feelings.
Now let's take a deep breath in and out.
And again,
Deep breath in and out.
As you breathe,
You realize that there is a strong core inside you that's unshakable.
It allows you to stay humble yet confident,
To set new bold goals,
Embrace challenges,
And enhance your capabilities.
You know that you are not defined by the opinions of others,
Yet you take constructive criticism as a direction of what to do next to master yourself and your craft.
All the rest is just noise that you simply ignore.
Your confidence is a tool that you apply to go further and further in life.
You have a strong conviction about your bright future.
Now think for a moment.
What is your next important step to get there?
Or the skill you need to master?
Don't force your thinking too much.
Just notice what comes to mind.
Now go and use your confidence to make that step and pay attention to your experience.
Practice will reinforce new neural connections.
Thanks for the effort,
And keep building your confidence.
