Hello,

My name is Michaela.

Thank you for joining Calm Your Koshes.

Today I'm going to be taking you through a rapid relaxation meditation.

I particularly like this meditation because it allows me to,

I suppose,

Practice when I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed,

A little bit busy,

And maybe just need to connect back with myself into the present moment.

So listen to this session,

Practice it,

And maybe in the future you can just bring it into your daily life and you might not need to follow this guided meditation.

Maybe you'll just remember some of the key points and you'll be able to do it by yourself.

So the rapid relaxation is best practice in an upright position.

So just find yourself in a comfortable shape,

Maybe sitting cross-legged or even sitting next to a wall,

Being supported.

And then when you're ready,

Just close your eyes,

Take a deep breath in and then gently sigh the breath out.

And as you do this you'll probably notice a wave of relaxation flowing through your body.

Taking a breath in and a gentle sigh out.

The muscles are softening,

Loosening,

Taking a breath in and a gentle sigh out.

Relaxing,

Releasing,

Just simply letting go.

Now allow your breath to take up whatever rhythm feels natural and comfortable for you at this moment.

Quite effortlessly,

Just feeling the ease of the breath.

And notice the feeling of letting go a little bit more with each out breath.

Just simply letting go.

And now start to move your back a little side to side.

Just in a gentle swaying motion.

Just enough to feel that your spine moving across that point of balance.

And as you do this,

Feel the muscles along either side of the spine softening and loosening.

Relaxing,

Releasing.

And then let the spine come to rest in that point of balance.

And then take another deep breath in and gently sigh the breath out.

Letting go,

Releasing,

Relaxing.

Now we'll come to the head,

Moving a little side to side.

Again,

Just a swaying motion.

Just enough to feel the head moving across the point of balance.

And as you do this,

Feel the muscles on either side of the neck softening and loosening.

Relaxing and releasing.

Let the head come to rest in its point of balance.

And take another deep breath in and gently sigh the breath out.

And now let's move the head gently from front to back.

Feeling the ease of this movement.

Like the head is just floating there.

Feeling the front of the neck,

The throat softening and the muscles on the back of the neck,

Releasing.

And then bring the head back to the point of balance and take another deep breath in and a gentle sigh out.

Feeling the sense of ease.

Just letting go.

Now just bringing your attention to the shoulders.

Just to lift them up and bring them down.

Just slightly and gently.

Feeling the muscles around the shoulder blades.

Relaxing and releasing.

And letting go.

And bringing the shoulders back to that point of balance.

Taking a breath in and gently sighing the breath out.

Just sitting with the sense of calm and ease.

Taking a moment to acknowledge how you're feeling at the moment.

Maybe returning to any area that you feel there may be a little bit of residue tension.

Otherwise,

You can sit quietly for as long as you choose.

And then when you're ready,

Just let your eyes gently open.

I hope this rapid relaxation meditation just helped to bring a little bit of quietness,

Stillness and maybe some rejuvenating energy back into your mind,

Body and soul.

I'll see you tomorrow.

Namaste.
