We all experience off-days and complex emotions. With self-compassion, these days feel easier and can help you understand what you care about. During this meditation, you will be guided through breathing exercises as well as self-compassion prompts. Sitting in mindfulness meditation to observe present feelings and giving space to feel free. This meditation is the second week of a four-week meditation series titled Self Love Notes. Background music created by Chris Collins.

Welcome back to the meditation series Self Love Notes.

This is week two and today we will explore off days and how being human is what makes us special and how we all experience a range of emotions,

Have on and off days,

And how that can actually help us understand what we care for.

So let's settle in.

Find a comfortable seat that allows you to be comfortable.

Sit up nice and tall and relax your spine.

Take a big inhale and exhale out of your nose or mouth.

Taking another deeper breath in,

Letting the breath arrive,

Relaxing as you continue to find your breath.

If you have recently experienced an off day,

Know that you are not alone.

Not being hard on yourself on those days helps you remember your humanity.

The view we hold on ourselves can often be unrealistic to the natural way we live our lives and interact with our world around us.

If something is outside of your control,

Let yourself off the hook.

Give yourself space for grace.

Honor the organic nature we innately hold.

Continue to find your breath here and I invite you to count with your breath.

Breathing in for a count of 2,

3,

4.

Breathing out for a count of 2,

3,

4,

5,

And 6.

Extending your exhale,

Repeating this count here for a moment longer.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Observe your breath here for the next few minutes and if the mind begins to wander,

Gently guide it back to your breath and to this method of counting.

Coming back to your breath,

Notice any emotions or feelings that are rising up for you here.

Just observe without judgment.

Give yourself space to feel freely.

Let your breath continue and guide you through this space of any feelings that are coming and going.

Without judgment or naming it as bad or good,

Simply just allow.

Coming back to your breath if you need it,

Knowing it's there to support you in your practice.

Taking another deep breath in.

Placing one hand on your heart and the other hand either on your chest or abdomen.

Taking another moment with your breath.

Feelings often point us back to ourselves,

To our values and what we care for.

So simply observe right here,

Staying with your breath.

Gently coming back to the room,

Slowly opening the eyes as you wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.

Thank you for this practice and have a wonderful day.

See you next week for another self love note.
