Welcome to this short meditation about gratefulness.
It is a practice that,
In my opinion,
We could never get enough of.
Gratefulness is one of those energies that,
Whenever we send it out to the universe,
There's only place for love.
And in my opinion,
That's a beautiful thing.
Now being grateful can be super easy,
Though sometimes it can be difficult.
And with this practice I'm going to teach you how you can have access to gratefulness whenever and wherever you want.
Feel free to close your eyes and relax.
Let's take in a big sigh of relief all the way in through the nose and let it all go through the mouth.
Let your shoulders relax all the way down.
Let go of any tension.
Your back,
Keep it straight but relaxed.
Now release the tension in your legs.
Feel your feet.
Now focus your attention in your arms and in your hands.
Let go of all tension that might have built up in those parts of the body.
Now shift your attention to your head,
To your jaw,
To your mouth and relax.
Relax.
And the more you relax,
The better you feel and the better you feel,
The more you relax.
Relax your eyelids.
Relax your ears.
Relax your tongue.
And whenever that feels good,
Shift your attention towards the breath.
Don't try and change anything,
Just focus and observe.
Be a silent observer of your breath.
Might be going in via the nose,
Might be going in via the mouth.
Where does it go to?
Do you breathe into your chest?
Do you breathe into your belly?
There is no right or wrong.
You're just observing and being present.
And the more you focus on your breath,
The better you feel.
And the better you feel,
The more you can focus on your breath.
In and out.
And now I'd like to invite you to think of a situation that happened in your life where you felt most grateful.
You felt so good that that sense of gratefulness just embraced you.
And you see that in your mind right now.
You're back in that situation,
Surrounded by the environment.
And now ask yourself what do you see?
What do you hear?
What do you smell?
And maybe there's a particular taste.
The situation is becoming fully alive in your mind.
And you're there.
You can feel it.
And again you're surrounded by that feeling of gratefulness.
Embrace it.
And be grateful for that feeling of gratefulness.
Immerse yourself in the situation and feel it.
Now I want you to imagine that this feeling of gratefulness turns into a tool.
It turns into an object.
What object do you see?
What kind of tool does your gratefulness represent?
It's very likely that this is the first thing that arose into your mind.
Now focus on that.
Hold it in your hand.
It feels good.
Hold it against your chest.
That makes it feel even better.
And now in front of you there is a toolbox.
That's your toolbox.
And you can open it.
And you put your tool of gratefulness,
That object of gratefulness,
In your toolbox.
And you close it again.
And now this toolbox is always going to be there in your mind.
This is your imaginary toolbox.
Which is accessible for you.
Wherever and whenever you want.
Remember that you can always open this toolbox and get out your object.
To hold it in your hand or to hold it against your chest.
Now put the toolbox somewhere safe.
In a place that feels good.
In a place that has meaning for you.
And keep it safe.
And let's be grateful for this toolbox.
Holding your special object of gratefulness.
And let's shift our attention back on our breath.
Just be a silent observer again.
Has there anything changed since the last time you observed your breath?
Maybe you're breathing deeper.
Maybe you're breathing more slowly.
Just observe.
And slowly remember yourself where you are.
Remember the room that you're in.
Remember your surroundings.
Feel the chair you're sitting on or the couch or the bed.
Feel your legs.
Feel your arms.
Feel your hands.
Feel your eyes.
And whenever that feels good for you.
Take another big sigh of relief.
All the way in through the nose.
And letting it all go through the mouth.
Slowly place your chin against your chest.
And back up again in a neutral position.
And whenever you're ready,
You may open your eyes.
Now this has been a short meditation that has now taught you that this feeling of gratefulness is always accessible for you.
Whenever you feel that you need it,
It is right there in your toolbox for you to access.
Just go in your mind to that safe place where you stored it.
Open it.
Take out your sacred object of gratefulness.
And relive that feeling of gratefulness.
Because it's there.
And you're allowed to experience it.
Because that is beautiful.
And that is what we're here for.
On Earth.
To experience.
I'd like to thank you for participating in this meditation.
