Welcome,
This is Michelle.
Let's come home to ourselves.
In today's practice we're going to find a softer place to reside.
We get tense and hardened by many aspects of life.
We lose the softness in our bodies and our minds.
So let's begin by arriving here in the fullness of yourself,
In this moment,
In your body,
Your mind,
Your emotional self.
Come into your whole self in a comfortable position where you can rest.
Feel your body breathing for you.
Feel the natural rhythm of that breath.
Feel the surfaces beneath you and let your body rest against them.
Now let's become aware of how you're feeling,
How tense or soft you experience yourself to be.
Give yourself a score out of ten,
With ten being the most tense and zero being completely relaxed and soft.
Now let's begin making an intention to soften by asking where can I soften?
We're going to walk through a softening of your whole self.
In each area I ask where can you soften?
But don't search for that answer,
Just let it gently arise.
Let it be a gentle awareness as you move on to the next area of softening and by the end you'll have clarity on where you've been holding or grasping because those will be the places that will soften the most.
So let's begin,
Where can I soften on the inside?
Where can I soften on the outside?
Where can I soften in my body?
Where can I soften in my muscles?
Where can I soften in the holding and bracing of myself?
Where can I soften in my movement?
Where can I soften in my nervous system?
Where can I soften in my posture?
Where can I soften in my face?
Where can I soften in my space?
Where can I soften in my energy?
Where can I soften in my mind?
Where can I soften in my thoughts?
Where can I soften in my inner dialogue?
Where can I soften in my voice?
Where can I soften in my words?
Where can I soften in my feelings and emotions?
Where can I soften in my responses and reactions?
Where can I soften in my choices and my actions?
Where can I soften in my exchanges with others?
Where can I soften in my conversations?
Where can I soften my grip,
My holding or grasping?
Where can I soften in my defenses?
Where can I soften in my wanting and expectations?
Where can I soften in my ideals?
Where can I soften in the pressure on myself?
Where can I soften in my searching?
And where can I land softly?
Where can I land softly?
And just noticing how you feel now and giving yourself a score out of ten.
Noticing if you've softened from your original score and as you open your eyes hold this softness with you.
Take it into your day and return to it as often as you like.
