This exercise can be used to reduce body or a psychological pain. We will use the power of acceptance and forgiveness and welcome the problem into our awareness. We can discover why we have it and make a decision to release it. Warning: This is not a substitute for professional help.

If you'd like to relax,

Close your eyes,

I'll guide you through a healing session.

And this can be for anything,

A physical complaint,

A grievance,

A psychological issue.

So we take a few deep breaths and then breathe into the legs,

Tense the muscles of the legs,

And then breathe out.

Breathe in and gently tense the muscles of the stomach and release.

Breathe into the arms and make fists of the hands,

And let go.

Breathe in and squeeze the shoulder blades together,

And release.

If your neck feels a bit stiff,

You can move your head around.

Surrounding us now and at all times,

But especially being called now,

Is such a presence of love and healing in the forms of the guides,

The Holy Spirit,

Jesus,

Whatever symbols you'd like.

And they wish to be invited as they won't go against your free will.

So whatever words you want to use,

Silently offer a prayer of welcome.

It's very important.

It helps you can,

Like in meditation,

You can see that golden light coming down into your head and through all the body and all the chakras.

You're feeling their presence.

It's a joy for them to be with you,

To be invited.

As we said,

They are the servants.

The joy is to serve.

And we can make a beautiful coloured bubble around us.

That's only the highest good can come through.

And they fill up that bubble on the inside.

Now bring to mind the issue you want to work with.

It could be physical,

Psychological,

A grievance,

Some lack of forgiveness.

It may be about you.

You may have a bad feeling about yourself,

That you're a failure,

Whatever.

Or if you're not sure what to work with,

Turn to your guides and say,

Where is it that I need to feel peace with?

What needs to be healed?

Let them show you something.

And your job now is to accept it,

As opposed to resisting it.

Make it real.

If it's an incident with another person,

You can bring back the memory and feel the feelings.

It's all right to feel sad or angry.

Or about yourself.

You might feel ashamed.

Just feel it and feel where it's stored in the body.

The unforgiveness in the mind will be mirrored in the body.

As you begin to feel it,

If you can,

Just put an accepting hand over that part of your body.

Just say to it,

It's okay,

You can be there.

I'm not asking you to go.

I accept you.

I've created you.

I accept you.

Just become a bit more familiar with it.

Just see how large it is,

Where it starts and stops,

What shape it is,

How deep it goes into the body,

Its texture,

If it feels any hotter or colder than the rest of the body.

I accept you.

I created you.

What emotion lies there?

And whatever the emotion,

Again,

Accept it.

It's all right to be angry or sad or fearful.

It's only the ego that judges it.

It has its story to tell.

Let some image come that represents it.

Maybe an animal.

Maybe a child.

Maybe something quite different.

Ask to be shown an image that represents this area.

And let it speak to you.

Let it talk to you.

How it's feeling.

Your job is to listen with acceptance.

Ask it,

Why did I create you?

What am I getting from you?

Are you trying to protect me?

Why did I create you?

Why am I afraid to let you go?

Why am I afraid for you to be healed?

Why do I hang on to you?

Now invite your guide to stand next to this image.

Your guide is full of love and acceptance.

You may even see it put its arm around this image.

It may call you in as well,

The three of you.

Nothing to be ashamed of.

You've set together the acceptance.

If you turn to your guide,

Please teach me how I can be at peace around this.

What is it I need to do or say or forgive?

Then ask yourself,

Is it time to be free now?

Is it time to be healed of this?

Or I'm not yet ready to let this go?

Either answer is okay.

If you don't feel ready to let it go,

Just kneel down,

Pick it up,

Make it small and put it into your heart and look upon it with acceptance.

If it is time to be free,

Let your guide,

Your angel,

Take this being happily away.

The child,

The being,

The image is happy to leave and you thank it for serving you in some way.

Thank you for being with me in these times.

You're free to be happy now,

To be and play with others.

As it leaves,

Feel that space in your body that's being vacated with that golden light.

If you've got time,

You need to feel complete and then bring yourself back to the room.

I have dealt with a 25 year longstanding history of this recently aggravated pain, now due to recent heavy snow shoveling. I’ve been asking Holy Spirit to guide me as to what I need to forgive. This process was helpful because I hadn’t taken time to be befriend the pain and offer compassion to myself, not just for the experienced pain, but for my fear of limited physical abilities as I am aging. It was reassuring to have you walk me through this process. It’s one that I’m familiar with, but it was good to feel your guidance. Thank you for all your offerings here on Insight Timer. 🙏🏻
