Welcome.
This is an introduction or overview of this short guided meditation series.
So today's meditation will only be for one minute.
Now,
One minute might not seem like much to start with.
It might not seem very useful.
But what we're doing at first is trying to train your mind to see meditation as highly approachable,
Not a big deal,
Not very difficult.
So the idea is we want to make it as easy as possible until it becomes a habit.
So for each of the guided meditations in this sequence,
Try it out and notice if it felt easy or not so easy.
If it was easy,
Great.
You can move on to the next one the next day.
Otherwise,
If it still didn't feel easy,
Just repeat the same one again the next day.
Every day,
Your experience will be just a little bit different.
And that's the whole point,
To just notice how it is every time.
One more thing before we jump in.
Remember that you are in control if something really unpleasant comes up,
Really painful,
Something traumatic,
Something scary,
Please take care of yourself.
You can open your eyes at any time,
Remind yourself that you're safe,
Look around your room,
Ground yourself in the present moment,
Whatever that scary thing was that your mind was imagining,
Remind yourself that it's not happening right now.
You're safe right here.
You're in control.
And it's really okay to go at your own pace.
Maybe you need to spend weeks meditating for just one minute a day before you increase the time.
That's fine.
Just feel whatever is right for you.
Meditation is kind of the opposite of the modern culture of productivity.
So it's easy to bring that mentality here and think that it's important to advance as quickly as possible,
To become a master meditator.
But the truth is,
The more you try to rush it,
The further away you'll get from being a master meditator.
This is a lifelong practice.
I've been doing it for 13 years,
And I'm still learning.
So it's totally normal if it feels hard.
Just keep trying,
And go at whatever pace is right for you.
