So this meditation was deeply important to me in my formative years of understanding myself after a deep deconstruction of my identity,

My vocation.

Really every avenue of my life was deconstructed and was being put back together.

And the moded method that I found most helpful was meditation.

And this meditation that I'm about to walk you through,

This guided,

Brief meditation was my mantra meditation for many years and still to this day is one of my go-to.

It's very simple.

It's based on the fruit of the Spirit as spoken by Paul in the New Testament.

And whether you are a Christian or not,

And whether you have an issue with Paul or not,

As I think many of us may have a couple issues.

This is the one sort of mystic revelation that I think Paul has about what it really means to be human and alive,

And what it really means to be full,

And what it really looks like to live a life of the Spirit.

And so as we get ready,

We begin to just quiet our hearts and our minds.

We begin to be conscious of our breath.

Any of the thoughts that slip into our minds,

We allow to simply slip out.

With all of the projections,

Allusions,

Narratives,

Titles,

Responsibilities,

All of that as its place,

But not in this moment.

And we trust that if it's important,

It will come back to us.

But right now,

As we sit on the side of the river in our mind,

We allow all things to float right past us.

As we release,

As we release to receive,

And as we look deep into ourself,

We look and we begin to see the essence of who we truly are.

That the fruit of our life is love.

That who we are is love.

That we are joy.

We are peace.

We are kind.

We are at our core good.

We are faithful.

We are gentle.

We are self-controlled.

Even though we may think that might not be wholly true right now,

We release the idea that we are anything other than these attributes.

And we choose to live into the truth that I am love.

I am joy.

I am peace.

I am kind.

I am good.

I am faithful.

I am gentle.

I am self-controlled.

Take a moment to breathe.

And to release any notion or any bridge,

Any wall that would be put up in your heart and your mind against these.

That you are enough.

There is nothing that is beyond you that you don't already have inherent within you.

And the prayer is that these attributes that are already in us would begin to become even more apparent in our life,

Bringing us wholeness and freedom and liberation for the good of ourselves and our world.

Accept that you are divine.

I am divine.

I am the fruit of the spirit.

I am love.

I am joy.

I am peace.

I am kind.

I am good.

I am faithful.

I am gentle.

I am self-controlled.

And so much more are we.

As we release and receive this truth,

We begin to awaken to that divine reality even much more.

Be whole,

Go and be more than enough.

Go and be the fruit of the spirit.

Blessings.

Listening to this again today on Pentecost. 🤍 I often listen. Thank you for being with me in my struggles, in my joy, in my peace, in my suffering. Each breath, step by step. We all are enough. 🙏 Adding more, two months later… Accept that you are Divine… stuck on this one, at a thinking level, I imagine I’m not alone with this. Trying to shift, what’s helping me are words from Fr Richard Rohr. God is the includer and we are the included. Trusting myself to leave it at that. Blessings to all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I love the Fruit of the Spirit as mantra, as affirmation of our wholeness with God.
