How you breathe is how you live.

It is said that the inhale represents your ability to receive and the exhale your ability to give.

Today is about honoring our breath and making an effort to bring more awareness of your breath into your life.

Think about why you feel so alive after exercising or dancing or taking a brisk walk.

It's because you are oxygenating your body.

More oxygen,

More life.

Literally.

So if you're breathing in a shallow way,

You might be living in a more shallow way in the sense that you aren't fully taking in life using your full lung capacity.

And maybe it's time to explore what brings you joy.

What kind of movements do you like to do that get your blood moving?

The oxygen coming into your body?

What makes you laugh and feel more alive and bring more of that into your life?

If you're breathing deep,

You're probably living in a deep way in the sense of a more meaningful way where you've discovered how to be in your body more.

Maybe you're laughing and you're in more joy.

The most profound journey I ever took was within myself using the connected breath.

Not only was it life changing,

I then became certified as a biodynamic breathwork practitioner and now lead breakthrough breath workshops and retreats around the world to support others in discovering the power of their breath.

So today I would like to introduce you to the connected breath and guide you through a little meditation.

So first,

What is the connected breath?

The connected breath you breathe in and out through your mouth only.

It's the largest opening so you can allow the most amount of oxygen to come in.

It goes like an ocean wave with no pause in between the inhale and the exhale.

So it's going to sound something like this.

The connected breath is very different from other breathing styles in that it's an active breath.

It's not passive where you sit there and you just let it happen.

It takes a little effort and after all,

So does change.

The connected breath is about bringing as much oxygen into your system so you can charge up your whole body.

So let's give it a try.

Get comfortable and close your eyes.

Allow your mouth to open and take a deep breath in through your mouth so that you can feel the air hit the back of your throat and breathe it back out.

And again,

Take a breath in and take a breath out.

Now let's bring meaning to the breathing.

So breathing in possibilities,

Breathing out doubt,

Breathing in relaxation,

Breathing out stress.

Take a big breath in as you breathe in vitality and really allowing the breath to come out as you breathe out any pain.

Breathe in love,

Filling up your body,

Your chest cavity,

Expanding from the inside.

Love,

Love,

Breathing out any expectations.

Breathe in happiness and just breathing out sadness.

Just feel your body expand with each inhale,

Your chest cavity rise,

Your whole inhale taking in life and surrender down on all the exhales,

Letting your shoulders drop,

Becoming loose.

Make this last breath your biggest one.

Deep breath in through your mouth.

Inhale,

Inhale,

Inhale and exhale out.

I invite you to bring more deep breaths into your day.

See how many times you can remember to take a deep breath and relax,

Especially in stressful situations.

Breathing is great for relaxing your nervous system,

Keeping your blood pressure down and reconnecting with yourself in the present moment.

Building a relationship with your breath essentially is deepening your relationship with yourself which ultimately is the most important relationship you can have.

Wishing you deep breaths and a happy day.
