Here we go,
Day three of your course in meditation.
Today is all about understanding.
Understanding is so complex because it comes in all shapes and sizes.
And the thing about understanding is we want to understand.
Our brain wants nothing more than to know the who,
What,
Where,
When and why of everything.
But sometimes we actually have to take the definition of understanding and lighten up on it a little bit.
We have to actually understand that we don't always need to understand.
We don't always need the answers.
So in meditation,
The brain likes to take over all the thoughts that perpetuate or clutter our minds while we're trying to sit and connect.
It's very normal that the brain takes over.
The brain is the secretary of the body.
It likes to sort things and it wants to color code and it wants to know which file it needs to put things in.
So of course it needs to know all the answers so that it can do its job appropriately.
And the heart,
The heart is the boss.
It knows.
There's a deeper understanding.
Yet the brain usually overtakes the boss.
The brain is usually so loud you can't hear the heart.
And so simply this meditation is about understanding we can't always have the answers.
I'm someone who always wants to try to understand whether it be another person or a situation or if I don't have the answer I will be a scientist and I will research until I find an answer.
And I've noticed throughout my life that doesn't always serve me.
Sometimes it's stressful and it takes over and it becomes the focus or even a distraction for really what's going on in my life.
So next time you notice this contraction between heart and head let your full attention stay there.
And what I mean by that is if you feel so heavy in the head your thoughts are going non-stop and there's little balance with the heart or vice versa.
Let your full attention stay there.
Likely we're in some sort of negative loop of self-criticism or misalignment.
So the heart and the head is a great barometer.
We are responsible for the what's and the why.
What do you want to feel?
Why do you desire what you do?
Why do you do what you do?
We let go of when and how things are going to show up for us.
We always want to know the answers.
What's next?
How is that going to happen?
When is it going to happen?
It really really pulls us out of the present moment.
So we get behind the understanding of our own actions and why we do what we do.
If you set intentions but you keep looking towards things that actually suck and then give those things all of your energy you might actually miss experiencing your own personal bliss your own personal personal alignment.
So today it's about dissolving the static and the fuzz and getting clear is a power that develops as our awareness as our acceptance as our patience increases.
Like I said in the guidebook listening plus understanding equals immediate compassion and we want that so we don't stay stuck in our problems.
We're starting to be able to appreciate and understand others by way of a circumstance of their circumstance of our circumstance versus judging others or ourselves by simply their character or what we think their character is or our character is.
So we want this immediate compassion because it keeps our vibration high and our flow very downstream.
It's a very sweet and gentle understanding.
Where in your life do you feel misunderstood?
Where in your life do you feel as if you cannot understand or wrap your brain around the situation?
And are these things that you can have patience with and are these things that you can accept as is?
Wherever you are we start to settle in.
Take a really big breath in because that was a lot of information.
Take a really big breath out.
And as this is your third day in the course do what you need to do whether you're covering your knees with a blanket or you're wiggling out the hips or you just kind of wiggle out the shoulders take another deep breath in.
Start to really settle in.
It's a nurturing.
It's a heaviness.
It's a sweet,
Sweet stability that we begin to feel as we just sit here and be.
And as this is your fourth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your fifth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your sixth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your seventh day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And as this is your eighth day in the course do what you need to do.
And put your attention back on your breath.
Let go in and out.
Allowing yourself to stop seeking and start arriving.
You arrive right here with yourself with everything as is and you show up more compassionate,
More kind,
More available.
So I invite when you go out into the world after you've been sitting with me for 20 minutes that you pause.
You pause and you gather the good stuff and you hold it close.
All these things we've been practicing the patience,
The acceptance,
Today the understanding.
And hold it close and so deep inside you that no matter how fast the world gets you're the person walking.
You're the person moving.
You're the person listening and loving and feeling at your pace.
And that's all that matters.
Start to wiggle,
The toes stretch out,
The legs,
Whatever you need to bring yourself back into the awareness of the external world.
And take a big breath in,
Big deep nourishing rich breath.
And we release it out with an understanding to understand as simple and as complex as it is.
Left hand on the heart and right hand on top bow the head down as you connect to yourself,
To the boss of the body.
Thank you so very much.
