Welcome,
I'm so happy that you chose this meditation.
So I like to throw it out there that my meditations are a bit informational.
I like to guide you through them with talking and some people don't like that.
So if that's you,
This probably is not the meditation for you.
Just a heads up.
However,
What I will do in all of my meditations and I like to reiterate this for those who might forget and it's just a good reminder that I do start out with some fun facts and then we breathe together as I kind of pull you in and out of the breathing so that we don't go too far down that rabbit hole and then we can end in a more natural,
Neutral,
Normal state of being in terms of energy and just feeling all around good.
So this meditation is titled Brain and Heart.
For the sole reason that a lot of times we are in our heads perpetuating,
Letting the mind take over and sometimes when that happens the brain makes things up.
It tells us things that aren't true and I really feel like lately a lot of people have been in the space,
Myself including.
So with that being said,
The brain is a secretary of our body.
I like to call it that because it likes to file things,
It likes to sort things,
It likes to know why,
It likes to know how,
It likes to color code,
It has to have all of the information,
It has to make the decisions so that it can be put into the appropriate file where the heart is actually the boss.
It knows best.
However,
Sometimes it gets drowned out by the noise of the brain.
With that being said,
I ask you during this meditation to surrender,
To surrender everything that is going on with you right now.
Your thoughts,
Whatever happened today,
Whatever has been happening this week,
This month,
Maybe you're anticipating some news or some results.
I ask you for the next few minutes to let it all go.
With that being said,
Take a big breath in and a big breath out.
If you feel like you don't have enough time,
That's when we breathe because breath gives you time.
Let's do it again.
Big breath in.
Big breath out.
And so it's true when you start to go into the neurological research of the heart versus the brain or the brain versus the heart,
The heart's electromagnetic field is actually 5,
000 times stronger than that of the brain.
And the electrical field of the heart is 60 times greater than that of the brain.
So not only is the electromagnetic capacity greater than that of the brain,
But it's organically capable of performing certain brain-like functions.
Believe it or not,
The heart has between 60 to 65% of its cells representing neural functions identical to those that are present in the brain.
So it's no wonder that we feel so much through the heart.
We can connect so much through the heart.
All the energy in our body contains information and all cells are energetic.
And the closer a group of cells,
The more likely they are to vibrate in some sort of rhythm producing powerful,
Intense signals.
So heart cells are really tightly organized,
If you didn't know that.
And therefore,
That means they generate an extremely strong and shared signal,
Which is actually both electrical and magnetic.
And there's the healing power of the heart.
So once again,
We're going to surrender.
We're going to let it all go.
And we're going to see if the boss of the body,
The heart,
Has something to say,
Has something to feel.
Because a lot of times,
The answers are already within,
As we know,
Especially if you're a regular meditator.
Sometimes the answers,
They come by slowing down,
By sitting down.
Siting down,
Sitting down,
Breathing,
That gives us the momentum to go forward.
So go ahead and find a comfortable seat,
If you haven't already.
I'm also the type of person that truly believes that meditation can be done lying down,
Lean against the wall.
If you have to stretch out your legs during it,
Please do.
The purpose is not to suffer and be uncomfortable.
The purpose is to start to connect.
So we're going to close our eyes and continue to breathe.
And as you inhale in,
You tell yourself that everything is okay.
As you release out and exhale,
You surrender every single thing.
Because it's really important to know that the universe,
I swear,
The universe only wants you to succeed.
Inhale.
And then you exhale because you're satisfied.
You got enough oxygen.
The lungs are happy.
Release it out.
You're here.
You inhale again.
You feel satisfied.
You feel full.
Everything is good.
And you will continue to breathe.
And here we go.
Within our seat,
Arriving to ourselves,
We welcome.
And we become.
We become more patient.
We become more kind.
We become more compassionate.
And here we are climbing into the present moment with more generosity.
Our heart knows.
It really does.
We welcome you.
And find that inhale wherever you are.
You know that once you inhale there's satisfaction.
And you know that there's satisfaction because you release it.
You're full.
Otherwise you would keep inhaling.
Just start to tune into how you feel right now.
Is there a word?
Is there a space in your body that you're feeling it?
If you're feeling agitated,
I know some people get agitated when I talk through the meditations.
But like I said in the beginning,
Then I'm not the meditation teacher for you.
And that's okay.
But what you feel is what we choose to program ourselves with.
What we choose to program ourselves with.
And going back to the science,
To the neurology of the heart,
Knowing that all the cells are energetic.
And the closer a group of cells,
The more likely they are to vibrate that rhythm.
Producing these powerful,
Intense signals.
And like I said,
Heart cells,
They're really tightly organized.
Which allows them to generate this extremely strong,
Shared signal.
Feel it.
Let's continue to breathe.
Repeat.
Good,
And from here,
Place your left hand on your heart,
Take a big inhale in,
And just feel it once again.
And slowly soften,
Let everything release,
Let everything empty out,
Just feel the surrender.
That heart of yours,
It leads you,
It supports you,
No matter what you choose to do.
There are no wrong answers,
There are no bad mistakes,
No wrong choices,
Everything is a learning lesson.
The more we sit,
The more we feel into the heart space,
The center,
The more we trust ourselves,
The more all of this can be accepted,
And everything can be surrendered.
It's so simple and it's so complicated,
Keep breathing as I talk.
So if you're still feeling resistance,
If you're still perpetuating in the mind,
That's okay,
Let it be,
Follow it out,
Imagine all of the thoughts going through your head,
Like little fires burning off,
They're just burning away,
All these thoughts are dissolving,
You need them to play the movie,
You need them to run through the head so that they can find their way out and through.
Honor them,
And if you're feeling silent,
Stable,
Content,
Follow that through too.
And on the heart,
Still there.
And then say to yourself the word trust.
Trust,
Where in your body do you feel that,
And does it feel accepting,
Or does it feel resistant?
These questions are simply for an awareness of the state that you're in,
Not right or wrong or good or bad,
But awareness is the greatest agent for all change.
And we start to wrap it up,
If you want to release your hand from your heart,
Please do,
But I always like to start to stretch out when I'm done with meditation,
Stretching the legs,
Wiggling the fingers,
And if you open eyes,
Just make sure that you do it slowly,
Not to overload the nervous system.
Once again,
Take those words into your day,
Surrender,
Trust,
Knowing and trusting that we're meant to succeed,
And that definition of succeeding,
Of success is so personal to everybody.
Letting the heart lead the way,
And when you feel like the brain takes over,
Because it will,
Just sit down again and do this meditation.
Big breath in,
Big breath out.
And tuning in again to how you feel,
Where you feel,
And how the mat can inform the rest of your day or the rest of your evening.
Stay here longer if you'd like,
Or replay this meditation if you'd like,
But I hope you're feeling that ease of the surrender and the trust.
Thank you.
