Welcome to day two of your course of meditation.
Day two is all about acceptance.
So we'll start to get situated.
Realizing that each day that we meditate with patience and then acceptance and then understanding and then stability and day five is ease.
Each day kind of builds onto the next day.
So now that we've practiced patience,
Maybe had a small glimpse of it,
Or maybe we were really able to embrace it and integrate it right away.
Knowing there's no right or wrong in your process.
But with that patience we're then able to cultivate that acceptance a little bit easier.
We start to meet our grump and our slump and everything with love.
We stop trying to analyze or we stop trying to fix or condemn or blame or even shame ourselves for any experiences we might be having.
We really accept where we are,
Who we are,
Exactly as is and that's not easy.
So much of our suffering,
Our day to day resistance,
It doesn't come from what's actually happening but instead it comes from how we perceive it,
How we receive it.
So sometimes we can live with our palms up as we do when we meditate being open to receive.
Knowing that when we let go things start to work out for us.
Versus living in the state where we're gripping,
Where our knuckles actually turn white,
Where we might actually argue with what is and we resist,
We resist that reality.
So we can actually save a lot of our energy just by switching over to acceptance.
Like I said,
Accepting what's going on exactly as it is.
Sure we have opinions but could you drop those opinions and just be an observer?
And can we accept ourselves today?
Even if we want to lose weight,
Even if we want to be healthier,
Even if we're looking for a relationship and we can't find it,
Can you accept yourself exactly as you are right now and own it?
Your beauty and your flaws and your uniqueness and your voice and your gift and your past and your opinions and your desires and your feelings and your power,
Your entire being.
And what comes up for you when I say those words?
Is there a feeling in your stomach?
Is there a slump in the shoulders?
Is there any resistance towards accepting a situation,
Another person or yourself as is?
And when we start to become an observer to how we respond and an observer to our life,
We're able to approach everything with an okay,
Uh-huh,
I accept.
You can still have your opinions,
You can keep them and you can still choose to hang out with particular people or not but you can also add acceptance to everything else around you even if it doesn't jive with your life or your vibration or who you are.
It almost turns into a respect for yourself and for everything around you.
Wiggle the hips as we continue to settle in.
We release the shoulders down,
Shrug them up,
Move them around,
Let that nervous system burn off those little bits of stress.
And noticing the breath,
Where is it,
How is it,
What's its capacity,
Is it shallow,
Is it rich?
And then we let it go,
Meaning we let our breathing take us to a place of connection.
Connection allows us to start to see what no longer works for us and what we can let go of and accepting our choices.
Big breath in through the mouth so purse the lips open a little bit and exhale out of the mouth.
And follow the breath,
Accept how it is and begin to shift anything towards that place of acceptance that might need shifting,
Might mean the mind,
Might mean the breath,
Might mean how you're sitting right now.
The beautiful thing that meditation teaches us is that we are in control of ourselves.
And we breathe.
And start to bring yourself back to yourself,
To your home,
To your surroundings,
Not to open your eyes yet but to start to move if you need to.
Just be aware of what is around you,
What you're hearing,
What you're smelling,
What you're feeling inside and on a physical level.
Knowing that you're releasing all resistance.
You're releasing all resistance just sitting here and connecting to yourself.
You are allowing what is.
You are accepting what is.
And as you go about your day,
You know that you'll do your best to feel good about whatever it is.
You might be resisting or you might be unaccepting too but you're going to try your best.
Resistance isn't easy but if we can bring it to the forefront of our mind then little by little it will become easier and easier.
Start to slowly open the eyes,
Take a big breath in,
Big breath out.
Thank you so very much.
