Welcome.
My name is Melissa Kleehammer.
This is class six of our first aid kit series.
Today we're making an allergy inhaler specifically for mucus control.
So if you're someone who tends to have a lot of congestion,
A lot of phlegm and post nasal drip,
This is a nice inhaler to have.
You need three oils,
Maybe four.
The fourth is definitely optional and one that I'm not actually using today.
But every oil here is great to help move mucus,
To help clear mucus,
And to help soothe.
So we've got eucalyptus dives.
I'm going to hold it up.
I know it's really difficult to see,
But this is a different eucalyptus.
We tend to use eucalyptus globulus.
Eucalyptus dives is the one you want for mucus.
And then we've got cypress and sandalwood.
The optional oil is blue tansy.
It's an expensive oil.
It's blue,
So it's nice for an inhaler or diffuser blend,
Not necessarily for your skin.
But it's expensive.
It's a very strong scent.
I've used it in this allergy inhaler before,
And I don't love it.
But it's great as an antihistamine and for mucus control.
So if you happen to have it,
If you want to spend the money on it,
And you like that smell,
Go for it.
Okay,
So I have a little bit of a fancier inhaler for this one.
It doesn't go up your nose because it won't fit.
It won't fit in the nostril.
I was just trying something different out.
So this one has a glass tube.
Where your wick will go.
And I've already got my wick prepared in my,
Or it's not prepared,
But I have it already in my bowl.
With tweezers to pick it up when I'm done.
So we're starting with the eucalyptus dives.
Now,
If you join me for the previous class for the cold and flu inhaler.
I had offered a rule of thumb.
You want a strong oil to open and clear.
That's the eucalyptus dives,
And we're using seven drops.
So I'm going to put seven drops along the length of the wick.
You could certainly keep your wick in your bottle or in your inhaler and drop it in that way.
I like doing it this way because it spreads them out.
If you did it while in the tube,
That will descend.
That's just fine.
Seven drops.
Okay,
So cypress and sandalwood tend to be kind of both heavier oils to ground and restore,
But the sandalwood is also very soothing.
So I'm kind of using that as my soft oil.
Okay,
So I am going to do five drops of the cypress,
That's the heavier oil.
For grounding and restoring.
Remember,
This is great for clearing mucus,
The cypress.
Now sandalwood,
I'm using it as my soft oil to calm and to soothe.
But it's a strong scent,
So I am only using three drops.
So it's up,
And this is gonna take a while.
Yes,
Sandalwood is more thick.
So.
.
.
I'm going to be be a minute while they drop out.
With this blend,
With really any of these blends.
You know,
I'm only using three because I like sandalwood,
But it's very strong for me.
So if you're like,
Nope,
I could use more.
Do five drops instead of the three.
Okay,
So that's capped.
Grab your inhaler.
So now I'm taking my tweezers.
I think I did pretty good.
I just see a very small drop on the bottom.
So I'm just going to grab that.
Kind of at the bottom.
Of the WIC and then I'm.
.
.
Dropping it in,
Don't have to touch it with my fingers.
And then this inhaler,
It screws on.
And I drop it.
Then you take a weave.
So I don't really fully plug my other nostril.
I don't really like touching my nose.
It makes me have to blow it.
A lot of issues with our nose and my family.
So I like just gently,
Softly,
Partially close it.
So,
But completely up to you how you want to use your inhaler.
Now,
For your label,
I'm just going to write allergy.
You could write mucus,
Whatever,
However you want.
Adding this.
Since there isn't an actual top,
I'm just adding it to the side.
See that.
So this was class six of a class seven series.
I hope that you're enjoying these blends.
I hope you're finding some relief as you come to use them.
Our final class,
We're making an after sun spray.
Which doubles for scrapes because of the ingredients that we're using.
So I hope that you will join me.
My name is Melissa Kleehammer,
And thank you for being here.
