Namaste,
This is Melinda.
This is a short guided meditation with chanting to help you align your chakras.
And it's a wonderful practice to do first thing in the morning,
Especially if you are short on time.
So let's begin by finding a comfortable seat,
Either in a chair or on your cushion.
Take a moment to just shift and move around until you are feeling grounded and supported,
Allowing your sitz bones to ground down and the crown of your head to lengthen up towards the skies if there's a little string pulling on the top of your head.
When you've found this comfortable position,
I invite you to just begin to draw your eyes down or to a close and settle in for a moment,
Noticing your breath,
Drawing in any sounds around you,
Just beginning to become aware,
Noticing any sensations that you might be feeling in your feet or your hands.
Relaxing your face,
Letting the space between your eyebrows relax,
Let your jaw unhinge slightly.
Allow your tongue to rest easy in your mouth,
Perhaps even allowing the tip of your tongue to make contact with the roof of your mouth in a comfortable and natural way.
Now drawing your awareness to the base of your spine,
Your root chakra,
This is Muladhara Chakra.
And this is our chakra responsible energetically for our basic needs.
Allows us to feel grounded and connected to Mother Earth.
It's also connected to things like food,
Shelter and money.
Its color is red and the seed sound is lam.
As you inhale,
Draw your awareness,
Imagining a red glowing light at the very base of your spine,
Base of your tailbone.
If you'd like to chant along with me,
You may or you can just listen and picking in the sounds of the vibration.
Lam As you inhale,
Draw your awareness up to the second chakra.
This is Swaristhana Chakra.
It is located in the pelvic area,
Space between your hip points in your lower abdomen.
Its color is orange.
It is responsible for your emotions,
Creativity,
Relationships.
Just drawing your awareness,
Imagining this orange glowing light.
Seed sound is vam.
Next,
Draw your awareness up to the solar plexus.
This is the space just above your navel center and below your rib cage.
This is Manipura Chakra.
It is our center of personal power.
It's where our self-esteem resides in our bodies.
Its color is yellow.
Imagining a glowing yellow light at the center,
You may feel sensations come up for you with this.
Seed sound is ram.
Ram Inhale bringing your awareness up to your heart center in the center of your chest to the fourth chakra,
Anahata Chakra.
It's our heart center and it's where we feel love in the body,
Both giving and receiving.
Its seed sound is yam.
Inhale,
Your awareness moves up to your throat center.
Our fifth chakra is Vishuddha Chakra.
Its color is bright blue.
This is our center of communication and expressing our creativity.
Seed sound is hum.
You're imagining a bright blue glowing light at the center of your throat.
Hum Inhale,
Drawing your focus up to the third eye center,
Space between your eyebrows to the sixth chakra,
Ajna Chakra.
Color is indigo blue.
This is our center of intuition.
Seed sound is om.
Imagine indigo blue glowing light at your third eye center,
Picking a soft gaze with your eyes.
Om Inhale drawing your awareness up to the crown of your head.
Drawing our focus to the seventh chakra,
Sahasrara Chakra.
This is our connection to spirit and our higher self.
Its color is violet.
Its seed sound is silent om.
Imagine glowing violet light just above the crown of your head.
In this round,
Say to yourself a silent om,
Feeling the reverberation.
As you inhale,
Drawing the breath from the root chakra all the way up to the top of your head to the crown.
And exhale,
Crown all the way down to the root.
Keep allowing your breath to move up and down the central column of your body in the next few rounds.
And as you're ready,
Draw your chin down to your chest.
Again,
Begin to allow all the sounds around you to enter your sensory experience.
And slowly,
Let your eyes blink open,
Coming back into the space.
Have a wonderful day.
I hope you feel balanced and aligned.
And know that you can come back to this chanting practice whenever you need it,
Whenever you need to find balance and are feeling a little off-center.
