Okay.

Get comfortable and relaxed.

This is a meditation in which you do absolutely nothing.

We're just letting ourselves be exactly as we are.

No agenda,

No plan.

We're not going anywhere.

Going absolutely nowhere.

So you're just going to settle.

We're just resting,

Just being.

And the easiest way to just be is to settle awareness onto awareness itself.

So that witnessing,

That pure subjectivity before your mind,

Before your sensation,

Before anything.

Rest attention on attention itself.

Just be aware of awareness.

The teacher Fred Davis calls it awake awareness.

Awareness aware of itself.

Subjectivity resting inside itself.

It's very,

Very simple.

It's just what's already the case.

We're just not paying attention to the mind.

Although the mind is welcome to chat away,

It's no problem.

But we're aware of that which sees the mind.

That which experiences sensation.

The pure subjectivity in the background.

Not your name,

Not a persona,

Not a separate self,

But experiencing or witnessing itself.

That is actually God.

Goddess.

Oneness.

You,

You who are listening behind your name,

Are God.

You're oneness.

Nobody just,

Just nobody told you.

And that God consciousness,

That oneness,

Has all these qualities that have been overlooked.

So today we're going to tune into perhaps the most refined and subtle and quiet aspect of our being,

Of pure oneness,

Of pure witnessing.

I'm calling it the ether.

That element that is in a way pre-elemental.

Pre-form.

You could call it pure formlessness.

So as you just are aware of awareness,

You're awake to your own awareness.

Let's look around as that awareness and feel that awareness.

That pure subjectivity,

That background consciousness.

Start to notice how utterly quiet it is.

How still it is.

There's no movement.

It's pre-movement.

It's pre-sound.

It's the source that everything comes out of.

It's the background or the ground that we don't notice.

It has a quality of pure,

Unadulterated peace.

Awake awareness.

Awareness itself.

That which is hearing my voice is,

If you look right at it,

As it.

It's pure,

Quiet peace.

There's no struggle.

There's no effort.

There's no sound.

The sound isn't opposed to it.

In fact,

Sound is made of it.

But it's that which births sound.

That which births everything.

You could call it the womb of all creation.

The quiet,

Soft,

Formless peace.

Notice how awareness itself is that.

It's already here.

You don't need to go looking for it.

When my voice drops off,

It drops right into it.

When your thought moves on,

It flows right back into it.

Everything returns to a peaceful quiet.

Notice how awareness itself is that.

It is the source.

Everything is witnessed inside of you.

Pure peace.

Pure quiet.

The body also rises and falls inside of it.

The body moves.

It's an energetic field that moves inside of the ether of awareness.

Formless peace that energy arises out of.

So let's just bring this pure peace,

This formlessness,

Into form.

The body,

The form,

Is healed through this peace,

Through this quality of its absolute source.

It's healed by a lot of things,

But perhaps especially this quality of purity.

Not purity in our human way,

But purity in the cleanest air or water.

Even more refined,

Even more pure than that.

Absolute refreshment.

You are that.

You are that pure subjectivity.

Before all your thoughts,

You're already that.

You don't have to achieve it.

It's already here.

It's already you.

It already is your awareness.

So let's just bring your attention,

That pure subjectivity,

To feel your body.

Start to just feel your belly.

Just feel it.

That's putting that etheric attention,

That pure witnessing,

Into this body,

This perfect body,

This precious temple of a body.

We are inhabiting our temple.

It is a holy place.

All bodies are holy.

All things are holy because all things are God.

And you are no exception.

This body is no exception.

So we consecrate this body by bringing attention,

Awareness,

Witnessing into them.

Feel the belly move all on its own.

Feel the stomach and the belly button.

Feel up under the ribcage.

Feel your belly.

Let it be felt like you've never felt it before.

Like you're a newborn baby discovering their belly.

Let it be so at peace,

So soft.

You don't need to hold it.

You don't need to do anything with it.

You don't need to keep it taut.

Let it dissolve into the ether of you.

Let it just be.

Let the belly just soften and deepen.

Let your awareness and attention go deep into the corners of it,

The sides of the belly,

The back of the spine.

This refined,

Fine,

Fine attention can go up and down the spine.

It can go inside the vertebrae.

It can travel along the electromagnetic lines,

Moving through the spine,

Moving through the nervous system.

There's nowhere the ether can't go.

This ultimate awareness,

This pure consciousness.

So feel the belly be made of this pure,

Refined,

More silent,

More peaceful,

More still than anything.

Feel your belly be made of that.

It's made of pure,

Quiet space and all the movement of your belly.

Maybe there's pain.

Maybe there's a kind of cloudiness or density or achiness or nausea.

That's all welcome.

It's fine.

But be aware of that which experiences it.

Be aware of what those sensations play on and in.

And stay aware of that.

Not denying the sensations.

But not telling a story about them.

Letting them just be.

Because you are so much bigger and so much more peaceful and completely able as pure,

Endless peace to let those sensations play out.

They are no threat to you.

They're just sensations.

Feel the sensations of your pelvis now.

Down into every corner,

Feel the achy bits.

Feel into where you really feel into.

Maybe near the pubic bone or the tailbone or the sexual organs or the hips.

Feel your whole pelvis melt in being seen by this peace,

Touched by this peace.

Feel how still and quiet everything is underneath the sensations of the pelvis.

That those sensations have nothing on the peace that witnesses them.

And the peace that witnesses them,

You,

Are so welcoming,

So loving,

Actually,

Toward those sensations.

They don't have a name.

They don't have a story.

They're not a problem.

You aren't a problem.

Your thoughts aren't a problem.

Sensations aren't a problem.

They just are.

And there's all the room in the world from awareness,

Subjectivity's point of view,

Pure witnessing's point of view.

It's got no beef with all the sensations of your belly,

Your pelvis.

Feeling into your tailbone and now into your legs from inside your pelvis.

Feeling into the upper part of the legs and the thighs and the bones of the thighs.

The inner thighs and the bottoms of the thighs.

All the sensations there.

They exist.

They move inside of you.

Pure,

Peaceful,

Quiet.

And you have no agenda with them.

Every sensation is very welcomed by you.

In fact,

You,

Pure,

Quiet subjectivity,

Are even a little curious.

You want to come closer.

Feeling into your knees now.

Feel all through the knees like you've never felt your knees before.

Let your knees open.

Let your knees feel the most ether,

The most refined,

Quiet quality of attentiveness,

Of witnessing.

Let your knees melt into that peace.

Now feeling into the lower legs,

The shin bones and the calf muscles and the tendons and the skin.

All of it held in pure,

Quiet ether.

Absolute stillness.

Absolute zero.

Feel the ankles and feel the feet.

All this energy inside the feet.

Buzzing with energy.

In between the toes and the pads of the feet and the archways,

It's just alive.

What does that aliveness move inside of?

Pure,

Quiet,

Formlessness.

Even more refined than space and air.

That's what every bit of energetic pulse in your feet is floating inside of.

And let your feet be cleansed and washed with this utter peace.

Feeling your feet and feeling the energy in the area around the feet,

Through the feet.

The body is immersed in ether.

It is floating in pure vastness,

Pure peace.

So let those feet just unravel into peace.

Let them be formless.

Don't know where your feet begin and end.

Let the ether have them.

Then let's come on up to the top of the head.

Feeling through the top of the head,

Feeling the hair and the skin.

The higher follicles going down into the skin,

Then down into the brain,

The skull.

When you put awareness,

Which is pure,

Effortless peace,

Through your skull,

The skull starts to open.

The body feels safe enough to open,

To show itself,

To merge with a safe witness.

You,

Pure,

Awake awareness,

Are a safe companion for the body.

The body hasn't known that there's been a companion here the whole time,

So we have to show the body.

Coming down further into the skull and brain from the top,

Let it feel nice and open there,

That the subtle,

Quiet ether is flowing through your skull,

That there's an open channel through the top of the head.

Right in the very middle of the brain,

Way deep behind your eyes,

Are those glands,

The third eye gland.

That just needs to be felt.

You can't know that you're feeling it.

You can just feel the middle of your head,

And that starts to open things.

Again,

The body feels so safe,

Feels held,

Feels connected enough to unveil its secrets,

Unveil its gifts,

Its inner sight.

The body also holds a lot of tension and pain and old wounding,

So as we go here,

If at any point the body wants to stretch or move or exhale or whatever is natural,

Shake,

It's all welcome.

It's such a natural process.

Just pent-up energy leaving the body,

All witnessed in this refined,

Quiet,

Peaceful ether.

All the buzzing energy of the head,

Feeling the back of the head,

The density of the brain perhaps,

The front of the head and the forehead.

Feel the whole brain,

Feel the whole skull,

And see if you can feel inside the form,

The formlessness,

That absolute quiet that is the base,

The background source of all the density of all the activity,

All the energy that you might feel in the brain and in the forehead.

What does all that energy play on?

And in,

It's you.

So you're just witnessing,

You're just feeling the forehead,

Feel the middle of the forehead,

Feel the eyebrows.

Feel behind the eyes and into the eye sockets and inside the temples and all through the skull.

Feel the sockets of the skull,

Eye sockets.

Feel inside the nose and behind the nose,

The sinus cavities,

The cheeks and behind the cheekbones,

The jaw and behind the jaw,

The teeth and behind the teeth,

The back of the throat and the tongue,

The base of the tongue,

The roots of the teeth,

The back of the throat to the back of the head and the brainstem.

And coming into the neck,

Feeling the neck,

Feeling the throat,

Feeling the spine,

Feeling the base of the spine,

Feeling the center of the spine and the very,

Very center of the throat,

The hollow part of the throat.

All the sensation of the neck,

All the sensation of the head.

What does all that sensation move inside of?

What is that refined,

Quiet stillness,

Pure consciousness that all exists inside of?

You,

You,

Pure witnessing,

Pure experiencing,

Pure quiet.

Let that pure quiet feel the whole head,

The whole neck.

Let the head open on all sides,

360 degrees around the throat,

Open on all sides.

Feel that the neck and the head are made of this refined,

Very,

Very quiet refreshment.

Even subtler and quieter than wind and air.

Feel that your neck and head are made of that and then bring that down into the collarbones and across the tops of the shoulders.

Let the shoulders be refreshed by your own awareness,

By your own witnessing.

Love those shoulders.

The shoulders that might be quite dense,

Feel packed with muscle,

Tense,

But what's before the tension?

What does the tension exist inside of?

Isn't it formless?

Isn't it pure stillness?

Feel that.

Feel that in your shoulders.

Feel that in your arms,

The upper arms.

Feel the ether inside the bones,

Inside the elbows,

Inside the skin of the arms,

Inside the lower arms.

Feel the buzzing of the hands and the palms and the wrists.

Maybe there's achiness.

Maybe it's very tense,

The shoulders,

The arms.

What is the tension?

What is it seen by?

What is it felt inside of?

And let all that tension dissolve.

Let all that energy just be.

And let the whole body just be.

Good.

And we come back up to the top of the arms,

Inside the shoulders and the shoulder blades.

Feel the shoulder blades.

Feel the muscles wrapped around the shoulder blades,

Wrapped down into the ribs and the back of the ribcage and the spine behind the heart,

The bottom of the ribcage in the back,

Each vertebrae,

The energy of the spinal cord.

And wrapping around the side of the ribs and underneath the ribs.

So deep inside,

Feeling the lungs,

Feeling the heart tissue,

Feeling deep inside the solar plexus and the diaphragm under the ribs.

Feel the chest coming around now into the front sternum,

Behind the sternum.

All the bones of the ribs,

The heart,

The lungs,

The solar plexus.

Feel all of it,

The whole ribcage and all inside of it.

All this energy.

All this tension and pain perhaps.

There is a quiet,

Sweet,

Formless,

Pure witnessing that's holding it all,

That feels it all,

That loves it all.

So let your whole chest just be.

Every sensation,

Everything about it gets to collapse in the arms of you.

You,

The pure,

Etheric witnessing.

The pure,

Quiet,

Formless love.

The whole chest gets to dissolve in you.

And in that,

It radiates out.

So feel from inside your chest,

Absolute relaxed quality.

Feel that etheric,

Quiet,

Buoyant peace of awareness.

And feel it from inside the chest through the chest.

Feel how the chest itself,

The arms,

The neck,

The throat,

The head,

The belly,

The pelvis,

The legs,

The whole body and all of their sensations are floating in quiet peace.

In the most refined,

Cleansing silence.

Let the body dissolve in you,

The pure ether.

Pure God consciousness.

Let it all,

Let your whole being,

Your whole sweet body dissolve in you.

Return to dust.

Return to the ether.

Return to God.

The body doesn't die in returning to God.

The body comes alive.

All your story,

All your thoughts exist in this ether.

They exist in the pure witnessing.

And they're loved by it.

There's no problem.

So if the mind is chatty,

If the head is tense,

If the heart is aching,

Allow it to just be and remain aware of what it all is existing and moving inside of.

Pure witnessing.

Pure peace.

Pure peace is you.

And you are infusing it into the body.

And the body can rest in the peace of you.

Nothing that occurs,

Not one sensation,

Not one thought,

Isn't occurring in the ether.

In pure witnessing.

You are,

You are made of this absolute quiet.

This absolute zero.

This absolute peace.

This formless stillness.

And since it is you,

It will always be here for you as a body.

It will always be here to return to.

To be awake to.
