Returning to the present moment through your breath. Through listening to your body, you will be able to make decisions with ease, expand your creativity, be more intentionally focused, and become a magnet for what matters most to you. (music credit: Chris Collins)

Hello my sweet friend.

For today's mindfulness session we are going to be inviting in relationship to our breath.

I'd like you to find yourself in a comfortable position.

Perhaps you're seated or maybe even lying on the floor.

And then if it feels right to do so,

Drawing your left hand to your heart and your right hand to your belly,

Holding either a soft gaze or closing your eyes.

First coming into awareness of all the beautiful spaces and places where your body is making contact with the earth below.

And rather than thinking of gravity holding you down to the earth,

I invite you to imagine that the earth is in fact rising up to hold you.

And then gently drawing in your inhale all the way to the depth of your belly,

Then filling your chest all the way to the collarbone,

Moving holding here at the top,

And then gently releasing first from the collarbone through the chest.

Again first sending the breath all the way to the depths of the belly,

Lower ribs,

Mid chest,

To the top where your collarbone is,

Holding here,

And then gently releasing and letting go.

Collarbone,

Mid chest,

Lower ribs,

And belly.

I want you to continue with this pattern and don't force,

Just see what wants to open up and naturally flow for you.

And with loving kindness and gentle curiosity,

Notice if there's any areas where your breath might be feeling stuck or stagnant.

Acknowledge those areas and see if they want to open up even slightly for you.

As you continue with this pattern of breathing,

Maybe you notice how our breath cycles are much like waves.

Each breath,

Each wave is new.

Allow your hands to be soft,

Your shoulders to relax,

Your face is soft,

You're open to receive on the inhale,

And you're letting go on the exhale.

And then gently return to a normal breath pattern,

Perhaps bringing movement back into your fingers or toes,

Noticing this feeling right now where you are in this present moment,

And then gently opening your eyes and returning to this space here.
