Welcome everyone to your I am statement guided meditation.

My name is Megan Farrell and I will be taking you through your meditation today.

So before we begin,

Go ahead and just take these next few moments for yourself.

Find your comfortable meditative position.

Perhaps sitting cross-legged or maybe laying down.

Whatever feels good to you.

Honor being here right now and in this moment.

Taking time for you and your meditation practice.

So today we will be working with an I am statement.

And this is a mantra that you can use throughout the year.

A mantra that you can keep coming back to again and again.

And we use I am statements because they put us in the present tense.

They're positive.

They help us to evoke a certain emotion or feeling.

So today we will be creating your I am statement for 2021.

So wherever you are,

Go ahead and if you haven't already,

Close down the eyes.

Notice the natural rhythm of your breath as it moves in and out of your body.

Just allowing your body to relax.

Allowing any tension or tightness to release on the exhale.

And find peace and contentment on the inhale.

So we're breathing in peace and contentment.

And on the exhale,

Think of physically releasing tightness and tension from the body,

Breath and mind.

And now let go of all the air in the body.

And take a deep breath into the belly and ribs for 1234.

Pause.

Exhale 654321.

Pause.

Inhale 1234.

Pause.

Exhale 654321.

Inhale deep breath in.

Pause.

Exhale long breath out.

Let all the air go.

Inhale.

Pause.

Exhale.

Pause.

Keep breathing.

Exhale.

And now just come back to your natural breath pattern.

In and out the breath moves in and out of your body.

And now I want you to think of your 2020 year.

Let go of any judgments,

Anything that's coming up for you.

Maybe you had a great year,

Or maybe it wasn't the best.

Whatever is coming up for you.

I want you to choose one word that describes your 2020 year.

Now think of the person you were that year.

Good or bad.

Choose one word that describes who you were last year.

Now fast forward to today.

Right to this moment,

Exactly as you are.

Think of that person you were last year.

If you could flip that word around or expand on it.

What would that word be?

How do you want to feel this 2020?

What word do you want to embody?

What sensation do you want to evoke?

Choose one word that you want to feel,

Embody,

Evoke for 2021.

Now whatever words are coming up for you,

When you have them,

I want you to add I am in front of each of them.

So for example,

You might choose ease and confidence.

So your word could be I am ease,

I am confident.

And this can be one I am statement or this could be two.

Don't get carried away though,

Just at the very most picking two I am statements.

Once you have them,

On the inhale repeat both I am statements.

And on the exhale release any fear or judgment.

So inhale I am and insert your statement.

And exhale to release any fear or judgment.

Inhale I am.

Exhale fear and judgment.

Inhale and exhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Exhale.

Go ahead and take one more round to repeat your I am statement.

And then repeat these affirmations daily to yourself.

Write them down on a sticky note and place them where you'll see them.

Take a few moments each day and repeat it to yourself over and over again and again for 30 days.

This can be a minute long practice or five minute long but really really set the intention to embody this I am statement.

And it feels right to you deepening your breath.

Holding on to your intention to your I am statement.

And then bringing your awareness back into your body.

Blinking the eyes open and continuing on with your day.

Thank you so very much for joining me today for your I am statement guided meditation.
