The Inner Spring is your Pre-ovulation phase. After menstruation is over, you may begin to feel your energy rising, day by day. This can be a tender time of growth, so your invitation is to go gently and bring in a sense of curiosity. This practice is taking you on an exploration of movement with your curious self. You are invited to move your body with a sense of ease, as you slowly emerge into the spring season. Music by AlanFrijns from Pixabay. Image by TOMOKO UJI from Unsplash.

Welcome to the inner spring,

Your pre-ovulation phase.

You are probably feeling the energy flowing back in by now and moving forward with your tasks and responsibilities.

Don't forget that the inner spring strength lies in curiosity and playfulness.

So as you move through this season,

Remember to not take yourself or your life too seriously.

Have fun!

But this can also be a vulnerable time of feeling quite tender,

So remember to go slowly and gently.

For this practice we will be exploring movement with curiosity.

You can do this meditation seated or standing.

Just listen to your body in what would be best for you at this moment.

Don't force your body to move in any way that is uncomfortable.

You can get just as much awareness from micro movements and internal movements as you can with big bold movements.

We're going to start off with some small gentle movements to engage the spring energy with ease.

Maybe you would like to roll your head from side to side,

Moving your shoulders around,

Letting that energy flow down to your arms and your hands,

Allowing yourself to loosen,

Inviting in your core,

Doing any movements that feel luscious at this moment.

Moving down and allowing some movement into your pelvic bowl and your hips.

Circle them around or rock back and forth,

And then allowing that movement to extend down your legs and to your feet.

I invite you to continue with slow gentle movements as you now invite in your curious self.

Find one part of your body that is feeling tense or unpleasant,

And feel the energy of the movement flow to this part of you.

With curiosity and wonder,

Ask this part of your body,

What do you want to tell me?

Then allow the movement to flow without thinking and see where it takes you.

There is no judgment in this space as your curious self wonders.

Once the answer comes to you,

Slow down the movement and come into a place of stillness to integrate this learning.

Then let that awareness go as you turn to focus on a part of your body that feels pleasant and resourced.

And if you're having trouble finding this energy in your body,

See if there is a place of neutrality.

Invite the energy of the movement flow to this part of your body,

And then invite in your curious self.

Ask this part of your body,

What do you want to tell me?

Allow the movement to flow without thinking and see what unfolds.

If you find yourself drawn back to a place of tension,

Just gently guide your awareness back towards this place of feeling pleasant or neutrality.

Be with this stance of wonder and curiosity about how and why this place within you feels pleasant.

As the answer comes to you,

Slow down the movement and come into that place of stillness.

If it feels all right for you,

Continue to hold this sense of pleasantness or neutrality within your body.

See if it can extend beyond the part you have been focused on to the surrounding areas of your body.

See how far it can expand staying with a sense of ease.

Don't force it if it doesn't want to go any further.

Can this place of pleasantness reach the place of tension you experienced earlier or any other place of tension in your body?

Is it able to extend to any tension you're holding in your mind?

Extending to any tension you have in your heart and your emotions.

Extending to any tension you may feel in your spirit.

Allow these sensations to turn into movement and feel the flow.

Start small like a seed first cracking open,

Growing their roots deep down into the earth and then reaching up through towards the sun.

Sprouting the first leaves and then buds slowly opening to welcome the sunlight.

Watching this weaving of pleasant sensations and feelings flow through all parts of you.

Leaning into an expansive awareness of spring energy.

Take as much time as you want to explore this movement in the sensations of your body,

Mind,

Heart,

And spirit.

When you are finished coming to a place of stillness and maybe placing your hands upon your heart.

Take a moment to let go of the tension you experienced earlier.

And maybe placing your hands upon your heart.

Taking a deep inhale and exhale as you reorient yourself to your physical surroundings.

Then I invite you to spend a few minutes writing down what you experienced from this practice.

I hope the magic of your inner spring has supported you to continue on this cyclical journey.

Blessed be.

This meditation was beautiful and fun. Going with my somatic experience and dancing brought about beliefs (good ones) I didn’t know I had deep within. I feel resourced and so joyful. Thank you!
