Welcome,

Dear one,

To another point on the moving cycle of the Earth.

As we celebrate Lunasa,

Also known as Lammas,

We mark the halfway point between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox,

As we begin to notice the turning of the Earth moving from summer towards winter.

Lunasa in the Celtic tradition is a celebration of the first harvest,

The harvest of grains and the first fruits from the field,

As they flow from the bright green of the spring stalks,

Warm and ripened under the sun,

Now golden brown,

Ready to be plucked,

Molded,

And baked into a warm loaf of bread on your table.

Under the golden sun of Lunasa,

We take a moment to reflect back on the abundance that is in our life and everything we have to celebrate as we harvest gratitude during this season.

For the bounty is plentiful if we just open ourselves to see all that is around and within us.

So I invite you on a journey with me through the fields of abundance as we harvest the goodness together.

If you have not already done so,

Come into a place of ease and comfort within your body and closing your eyes as we journey within,

Sensing your feet softly landing on the Earth,

Dark rich soil below your feet warmed by the rays of sun,

Feeling that warmth move through your feet into your legs spreading through the rest of your body.

And as you look ahead,

You see a golden field of wheat.

As you come closer,

The stalks of wheat standing tall are inviting you to run your fingers through them like golden strands of hair.

And with each step you take running your hands along the stalks of wheat,

You feel the abundance of Mother Earth flowing from the ground up and the sun down upon you.

You feel yourself swaying with the golden grains in the warm breeze.

You are one together moving in this dance of abundance.

And as you continue to journey,

You see an opening in the center of the field.

You lay down your back supported by the solid Earth below.

And seeing the tall golden stalks around you in a circle,

You feel safe and comfortable by their warm arms protecting you.

As you look to the sky,

You see waves of clouds allow each cloud to form and shape into an image of what you are celebrating today.

What shape are your clouds forming into?

Take a moment with each one,

Feeling that sense of embodiment of your celebrations.

Allowing the abundance from within you flow up from the Earth through the tall stalks of wheat and down from the sky through these clouds of gratitude.

And all of it basking under the golden sun.

Remember who you are.

Remember the abundance of who you are.

Remember that you are worth celebrating.

Remember that the harvest is here.

Be grateful for the difficulties and for the beauty.

When you are ready to rise from your sanctuary within the field of wheat,

Stand up and begin to walk towards where you came from.

Take a handful of the grains,

Plucking them away from the stock,

Taking this harvest with you as it is ready to be molded and baked into a fresh,

Warm loaf of bread for your table.

Continuing to nourish you day after day.

And as you come closer to the edge of the field,

You let go of the stocks that are no longer supporting you.

Only taking with you what you need and letting go of all else.

Remember this harvest of abundance will continue to feed and nourish you as you move into the darker days of the year until you arrive in the light again.
