Hello,

Friend.

You are here because you want to know what the practical techniques of cultivating a mindset of openness through the power of affirmations.

Let's practice an activity where you will create your own affirmations centered around openness.

For example,

You might say,

I am open to guidance and messages that support my growth.

My own self,

When I am repeating an affirmation,

I always start with,

I am receptive.

As an example,

The one I just said would be,

I am open and receptive to guidance and messages that support my growth.

I also take it one step further by tapping in that affirmation,

Feeling it and tapping it into the core of my body.

Before we start our affirmation practice,

Let's take a moment to center ourselves by getting in a comfortable position,

Whether that be sitting or standing.

Take a deep breath in.

Let's hold that for just a moment and release.

Let's do that a couple more times to get ourselves solidly grounded and centered in this moment.

Inhale deeply,

Filling our lungs and exhaling slowly.

I'm now inviting you to close your eyes and visualize a bright light surrounding you.

This light represents openness and possibility.

As you continue breathing in,

Imagine the light filling you with warmth and positivity.

With each breath out,

Let go of any negativity or self-doubt that may linger within you.

As we are here fully in our bodies,

I want you to think about the qualities of openness that you want to embody.

What does being open mean to you?

What messages or guidance are you ready to receive?

Now,

Let's take a few moments to create our affirmations.

Using the ideas we've discussed,

Create a few positive statements that resonate with you.

These might be things like,

I am open to receiving new opportunities.

Or perhaps,

I am receptive to trusting the guidance that comes my way.

Or even,

I am open and welcome change and growth into my life.

If you're not sure what you want,

You can always pause right now,

Journal about this mindfully,

And come back to this space,

And come back to this place when you are comfortable with your new affirmations.

Once you have your affirmations,

I encourage you to write them down.

I like to write them on Post-it notes and put them in my bathroom,

On the mirror,

So I can see them every single day.

Or,

I have a few on my computer monitor,

And I see those every day,

And I repeat them.

You can also record them using your phone or any other recording device.

Speak clearly and with intention,

Allowing your voice to embody the positivity of these statements.

Once you've recorded your affirmations,

Let's take a moment to reflect on how this practice supports your journey towards openness.

By listening to these affirmations daily,

And by making yourself more receptive to receiving them,

This will help reinforce the mindset you want to cultivate.

It's a way to remind yourself that you are deserving of guidance,

And that you are open and receptive to receiving it.

When you're ready,

Bring your awareness back to the moment,

To the room that we're in.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

And open your eyes.

The more you engage in your own custom affirmations,

The more they will become a part of your mindset.

This practice is all about creating a habit,

Positivity,

And receptivity.

If you'd like to reflect a little bit more by mindfully journaling,

I encourage you to use the prompt,

How do I feel after practicing my affirmations?

What changes do I notice?

Take your time to explore any feelings and shifts in your mindset.

And if you feel any of the fear,

Vulnerability,

Self-sabotage,

It's time to adjust those affirmations so that you believe them.

Thank you.

I'm glad you were here with me,

And I hope that exploring this affirmation practice gave you the opportunity to consider something new.

If you would like to join me any Monday,

I do a live free session about setting intention for our week,

And we create our own affirmations there.

Remember to take care of yourself and keep embracing the power of your words.
