Let's experiment with non-dominant handwriting! Don't worry about how it looks or if you can read it; the goal is to sidestep your ego and focus on being present in your body. Start by grounding yourself with a short breathing meditation, then write your name with your non-dominant hand, switch to your dominant hand, and reflect on the experience. Finally, return to your non-dominant hand to let your thoughts flow freely.

Let's experiment.

Don't worry if you can't read your handwriting or what it looks like when you try this out.

Remember,

You are sidestepping your ego.

You might even feel your ego fighting this process.

The ego loves to be in charge to control everything perfectly.

Essentially,

You're going to focus on being in your body.

So let's get started.

Get paper and a pen.

It doesn't matter what kind and don't overthink it.

You're just on a test drive.

Find a comfortable place to sit that you can write easily.

Make sure your legs are uncrossed and your feet are on the floor.

Get grounded in your body with a short breathing meditation.

For at least three minutes,

Focus on intentional breathing.

That means full breaths into your belly and long exhales that let everything go.

Check out the Insight to Fimer app for guided breathing exercises if you need extra help or even use mine.

Now,

Write your name with your non-dominant hand.

Put the pen back in your dominant hand and write,

How did that feel writing with my non-dominant hand?

Now put the pen back in your non-dominant hand and let the answer flow when you write.

Was it awkward?

Slow?

Did you feel silly?

Stupid?

Childish?

Perhaps you found it fun?

Relaxing?

Creative?

Liberating?
