Thank you for joining me today in meditation.
Meditation brings expansion and balance into our lives.
As a child,
We all had to face challenges to our balance,
But you learned to trust yourself.
You also learned how to get back up after falling and how to apply that lesson to the next time you tried.
Finding our internal balance is an important part of our journey.
We each want to find our way to be happy and harmonious.
As adults,
We're able to conceptualize what balance looks like to us.
I've heard some people explain their balance as a feeling of flowing like a river,
Unimpeded by rocks,
Moving with agility around obstacles,
Knowing their course.
Others have defined it like dancing,
Naturally attuned to the rhythm with their feet gliding effortlessly to the music.
And yet others define it as being deeply rooted,
Like a tree with clarity and decision-making.
Even when difficult choices had to be made,
There was a resolve,
A deep knowing and grounding.
How do you relate to your balance?
In what ways have you learned to trust yourself?
And in what ways are there still opportunities for growth and expansion?
Let's begin our meditation.
Please find a comfortable way to be one where you feel supported,
Whether that's seated or laying down.
If you'd like,
Please close your eyes or lower your gaze.
You may feel yourself settling further into the space,
Noticing first your physical body,
And then noticing your natural breath.
We're going to move through the meditation,
Setting down any emotions that might be lingering,
Any ideas of things we must do,
Or any self-limiting thoughts.
You have opened up this time for meditation to honor your balance so that you will have more energy and a clear mind when you step out of the meditation.
Let your breath have the stage for a moment.
Air flows naturally through your body.
If you wish to place your hand on your belly to feel this rhythm,
Please do.
Notice your diaphragm rising,
Notice your diaphragm rising and falling.
Let's take a moment to engage with the rhythm of your breath a little.
In your own time,
I'd like you to focus on three breaths.
When you begin,
You'll breathe in deeply,
Feeling the rising of the chest,
Holding the breath for just a couple seconds,
And then release the breath out either through your mouth or nose.
Let's begin taking these three breaths,
Breathing in deeply,
Holding and releasing when you are ready.
Now let your breath come back to your normal rhythm.
Your breath has carried you through this life,
Always present,
Naturally seeking balance with the environment.
You're teaching your body to take deeper breaths and your body adapts to rhythms you introduced to it with time.
Your body is very powerful in its ability to function,
Heal and harmonize.
And you too are powerful in these ways.
As you begin to relax into the space,
Take a moment to reflect on some of the natural ways your body finds balance.
For example,
Your heartbeat or your breath.
How does your body find balance?
What are some of the ways you have learned or taught yourself balance?
Maybe through activities or social interactions.
How did you learn this?
And how does it feel when you experience balance?
Now bring to your mind a time when you felt unbalanced physically or emotionally.
How did your body or your emotions let you know that you are losing balance?
How did you feel?
You're stood strong in the face of adversity.
As you focus on your balance,
On your foundation,
What brings support to you at this time?
Does it feel more like motion,
Stillness,
Or something else?
You are adaptable and you learn with each lesson you face.
It's okay to fall.
It's okay to succeed.
It is all a process in your growth.
Honor yourself exactly how you find yourself today.
Consider offering a kind word to yourself.
You could start the sentence with thank you for being and fill in a gratitude.
Or you could also let the sentence just end there.
Thank you for being.
Begin noticing your body once again,
Your physical form,
Beginning to make movements.
And if you've closed your eyes,
You can begin to notice your body.
And if you've closed your eyes,
Allow them to open.
Coming back to your awareness.
Noticing your body and your presence resting here.
Throughout life,
Your physical body and emotions will move in and out of balance.
Today you trusted your inner wisdom going within and perhaps you found what balance looks like to you and strengths you hold.
And hopefully you were able to step away from the external and move to a state of calm awareness.
I hope you have a beautiful day.
