Transcript

This meditation is a breathing and sensory meditation to help calm the mind.

Begin with a deep breath in through your nose and sigh it out through your mouth.

If it's comfortable,

Close your eyes and take another deep breath in through your nose,

And this time,

Breathe out through your nose.

Allow yourself to notice your breath and begin settling your mind,

Letting go of thoughts for a moment,

Focusing on your natural breathing.

If your mind wants to interrupt,

You can ask it to allow you some quiet time,

Just for a moment.

If your mind persists,

You can visualize putting up a sign,

Like a do not disturb sign,

Letting your mind know you are taking a break,

But you will return,

Understanding thoughts are important but your presence and peace of mind are equally important.

As you begin to feel your mind settle,

Allow your shoulders to relax,

Allow your face muscles to relax,

Letting go of any tension you feel in your body.

Allow yourself to become aware of something comforting,

Maybe it's an image,

Perhaps it's your breath or your heartbeat,

Or a peaceful feeling like the warmth of the sun on your skin.

Whatever is comforting to you,

Breathe in and out,

Feeling this awareness,

Allowing yourself a quiet moment to simply be,

To feel this calmness.

Maintain your focus on what brings you comfort for the duration of this meditation.

There will be a chime in one minute to bring you back to awareness.

Honor yourself for taking this time for your well being,

And have a beautiful day.
