Welcome to a meditation on gratitude in the present moment.

You can find yourself a comfortable position,

Either seated or lying down.

And when you feel ready to,

You can close your eyes.

Let your body settle.

Take a moment to notice the support of the earth beneath you,

Allowing yourself to fully relax in this moment.

There's nothing you need to do.

Remind yourself there's nothing you need to fix.

Simply allow yourself to be present with your breath and your thoughts.

This is a time for gratitude,

For noticing and appreciating the many blessings that surround you.

So you can begin by bringing your attention to your breath.

Notice how the air enters your body as you inhale and how it leaves your body as you exhale.

With each breath,

You are anchoring yourself in the present moment.

Allow your breathing to become a little deeper and slower,

Settling your body into a rhythm.

And as you breathe in,

Feel gratitude for the simple gift of being alive in this moment.

And as you breathe out,

Release any tension,

Distraction.

Just let go of everything except this present moment.

Now,

Bring your awareness to your body.

Notice the sensation of your body resting,

The weight of it on the surface that's beneath you.

You can bring your attention to any area of the body that feels tense or uncomfortable.

And gently acknowledge this area with kindness.

Your body is your friend.

With each breath,

Offer gratitude to your body for all the ways it supports you,

Whether standing,

Walking,

Breathing,

Or even just being present right here.

Feel appreciation for your heart that continues to beat,

Your lungs that continue to fill with air.

You can send a mental thank you to each part of your body.

Thank your legs for carrying you,

Your arms for embracing,

Your eyes for seeing the beauty in the world.

You are whole.

You are enough.

And your body is a gift.

Now,

Turn your attention to your mind.

Notice any thoughts that are present.

Perhaps thoughts about the day or the future,

Or maybe things that are lingering from the past.

Gently observe them without judgment.

Feel gratitude for your mind,

The way it's constantly working to help you navigate life.

Even if there are challenges or moments of stress,

Acknowledge the intelligence,

Resilience,

Of your mind.

It's always seeking solutions,

Processing information,

Helping you understand the world around you.

You can thank your mind for its clarity,

Creativity,

Ability to bring you insight.

Even in moments of difficulty,

Your mind is doing its best to guide you through life experiences.

Now you can bring your awareness to your heart.

Maybe place your hand gently over your chest.

Feel the gentle rhythm of your heartbeat.

You may notice emotions or sensations.

Maybe love,

Joy,

Even sadness.

Whatever is present,

Simply acknowledge it.

With each heartbeat,

You can offer gratitude for your capacity to love.

Thank your heart for its openness,

Its ability to connect with others,

And for the kindness it can offer to both yourself and the world.

Appreciate your ability to feel deeply,

To care for others,

And to allow love to flow both inwardly and outwardly.

Know that your heart is a powerful source of compassion and strength.

It's the wellspring of all that you give and receive in life.

Now,

Bring your attention to the very moment you are in.

This moment.

Feel the stillness,

The peace that resides in your awareness.

It's easy to rush,

To rush through life,

Looking to the next thing.

But here,

In this present moment,

Everything is already complete.

Express gratitude for the simple beauty of now.

Thank this moment for being exactly what it is.

There is no need to change it.

No need to wish for anything more.

In this space,

You are whole.

You are enough.

The present moment is a gift,

And you are here to fully receive it.

Now,

Expand your awareness beyond yourself toward the world around you.

Think of the beauty in nature,

The people who surround you,

Or even the small things that make life enjoyable.

Birds chirping,

Warmth of the sun,

Fresh air.

Offer your gratitude for the world,

For all of the interconnectedness that exists,

Whether it's the love from family,

The kindness of a stranger,

Or the simple joy of a shared smile.

Recognize all the ways that the world supports and nurtures you.

In this moment,

You are connected to everything,

And everything is offering something to you.

Feel gratitude for these invisible threads of connection.

As we come toward the end of this practice,

You can pause here and offer gratitude for yourself.

Thank yourself for taking the time to be present,

To reflect.

Know that this practice of gratitude is always available to you,

In every moment,

Whenever you need to ground yourself or shift your energy.

Simply return to your breath,

Your body,

Your mind,

And your heart.

Take a deep,

Full breath,

Inhale,

Feeling all the gratitude you've cultivated today,

And exhale,

Release any lingering tension,

Lingering distraction.

When you feel ready,

You can slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the room around you.

May you carry the sense of appreciation with you.

May gratitude continue to flow through you throughout your day,

Bringing peace,

Joy,

And contentment into your life.
