Welcome my name is Maya and today I'm gonna guide you in our Japa Mahal meditation session.
In the yogi tradition the beads are used in Japa Mahal practice to receive mantras in meditation.
A full cycle of a hundred a repetition is counted on the Mala so the practitioner can focus on the sounds,
Vibration and meaning of what is being said.
According to Indian tradition,
To meditate with your Mala you should hold it in your right hand and use your thumb and middle finger to count each mantra by touching the gemstone or seed during the recitation of the chant.
On each recitation lightly pull the bead towards you with your fingers as you complete the mantra to move into the next bead.
The index finger is extended away from the hand and should not touch the prayer beads or be used for counting.
The guru,
The big gemstone is used as the marker for a starting and ending point of the recitation.
This meditation has the intention to anchor ourselves in the present moment,
Promote healing and elevate the level of consciousness to attain spiritual aspirations.
We'll be chanting 27 times the mantra AUM that is known as the sound of creation,
Also an expression of the infinity truth,
Tranquility and harmony of the universe.
So I invite you to find a comfortable sitting position,
Make sure that you are able to sit up straight and tall and that your sitting bones are grounded.
You always can sit in a chair,
You can have your back to the wall or if you prefer you can also lie on the floor feeling the lengthening in your spine.
We'll take a deep breath in and out to prepare and in our next exhale we will start to chanting our mantra AUM.
AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM After you finished just notice the sensation that this practice brought to your body,
To your mind and to your soul.
Very slow start to bring your attention to this present moment.
Take a deep breath in and out.
Start to feel in your body.
Start to connect again with your heart,
With the room that you are sitting in.
Very slow and when you are ready you can open your eyes.
Thank you so much for sharing this practice with me.
Namaste.
Thank you.
Thank you.
