Welcome to the embodiment and trauma release guided meditation for sensitive souls.

I am Matt L'Anse et al.

And I will be guiding you on this journey back home to the most authentic aspect of your nature.

Before we begin I want to talk about embodiment and trauma.

So we are clear on exactly what the intention for this guided meditation is.

What is embodiment?

Embodiment is alignment of mind and body.

Embodiment means becoming whole.

To have your mind,

Body and spirit connected to one another and working together for your highest good.

What is trauma?

The body stores an emotional experience within itself.

When we experience trauma,

The cells in our body will carry that emotional experience until we find safety,

Stillness and presence to allow the emotions to release from our body.

Trauma is unprocessed emotion that needs to be released if we want to heal.

This guided meditation is designed to help you connect back to the body where the emotions can be connected to and released.

Reconnection to the feelings and sensations in your body is called your felt sense.

Reconnection to the feelings and sensations in your body is called your felt sense and I will use this term throughout the meditation to help you move away from the mind and directly into the feelings and sensations that are present within your body.

If you are like most people,

You are over connected to the mind and disconnected from the body.

We need connection to both if we want to find inner peace.

The mind and body in unison govern important aspects of our nature as sensitives.

We need the mind to conceptualize our feelings but it's not the job of the mind to feel them.

This is the job of the body.

When we assign this responsibility to our mind,

It leads to intellectualizing our feelings and we don't end up discharging them from our body.

This is called rumination.

When we intellectualize our feelings and try to make sense of them with our minds,

It is unhelpful and causes us great suffering.

Feelings want to be felt and then they will release and move on.

They are merely particles of energy that are trying to point us in the direction of meeting our needs.

Emotions are messengers with valuable messages.

It is our job to find stillness each day and listen.

This is the purpose of this guided meditation.

When you say,

I feel angry,

What does this mean?

How do you know you are angry?

What does anger actually feel like in your body?

What are the sensations present that let you know you are angry?

If you start becoming aware of this felt sense,

You start tracking this part of your experience in the present moment.

You may notice that anger feels like heat around your chest.

Your fists get clenched.

Your jaw becomes tight.

Maybe your heart starts pounding or your head gets flushed.

When you start reclaiming this kind of sensitivity to your body's language,

You start creating space between the physical sensation in the present moment and the emotional energetic charge that your mind attached to it.

This is embodiment.

We are discerning between mind and body and accessing the part that is designed to deal with this specific experience most effectively.

This meditation will be playing with your attention throughout.

Where your attention goes,

Energy will flow and we want energy to flow down into your body where great healing can take place.

I will be asking you to direct your attention to different parts of your being.

If you find your mind wandering,

I ask that you gently and compassionately bring your attention back to the sound of my voice or to your breath so you can re-find your center.

I hope you enjoy this guided meditation.

I would recommend using it daily until you have re-established a conscious connection between your mind and body where balance can restore you back to a state of inner peace.

Let's begin by settling in.

Look around the room and notice what it's like to have your attention be focused outward.

What do you notice?

What sounds do you hear?

What do you see?

How do you feel right now?

Now I want you to take a deep breath and gently shift your attention from outside yourself to inside yourself.

Where did your attention first land when it entered your inner world?

Did it go right to your thoughts?

Perhaps you noticed sensations in your body.

Or maybe you connected directly with your emotional experience and you felt feelings.

We're just here to observe.

What does it feel like to be alone with yourself in this stillness?

I want you to acknowledge any resistance you may have to being still right now.

You don't need to overanalyze it.

You're just here acknowledging the resistance and welcoming it as part of your experience right now.

It is completely normal to have resistance.

As human beings we experience duality.

We must give space to both the mind and the body,

The spiritual and the human,

And the yin and the yang.

We are made up of both polarities and it will only serve you to give space and understanding to both.

Now bring your attention to your breath.

What is the quality of your breath right now?

Is it shallow or is it deep?

Just welcome it as it is.

Letting your breath breathe you in this moment.

We're not trying to do anything right now.

We're just observing our beingness through our breath.

Today we are going to be traveling inward together.

We are going to dive into the deepest aspects of our being to rediscover our true nature.

I want you to trust that this guided meditation is charged with the vibrational frequency of transformation and love.

Each word I speak carries a vibration and your soul will absorb what it needs to to transmute your fear into love so you can step into your true nature with ease and grace.

I want you to take three deep breaths to start grounding yourself.

First breath in through the nose and out through the mouth allowing the sound of release to occur.

Letting go of all the tension inside your body.

The second breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Surrendering yourself to this moment.

Third and final breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.

You are now in a relaxed state and ready to absorb this guided meditation.

We are going to begin with a deep connection to the body.

We are going to connect to the felt sense through a body scan.

I want you to lay down in a comfortable position with your eyes closed.

We are going to begin with the feet.

Drawing all of your attention and awareness to your feet.

Both feet.

Noticing each toe on each foot.

What sensations do you notice when you draw your attention to your feet?

Connect with these sensations.

Invite them into your experience now.

We are next going to bring our attention to our knees.

Offering up your attention to each knee.

Full attention and awareness with your knees now.

Welcoming all sensations that come to you through the knees.

Bringing our attention from our knees up to our hips.

Starting on the outer edges of the hips.

Full attention and awareness on the hips now.

Allowing all sensations to be present with you.

What are your hips trying to communicate to you right now?

If you notice your mind wandering,

Bring your attention back to the hips.

Focusing on sensation.

All attention and awareness in the body right now.

Moving from the outer hip to the inner hips.

Focusing all attention and awareness on the pelvis.

Welcoming any sensations,

Positive or negative,

That arise in the hips and the pelvis.

From the pelvis,

Moving towards the sex organ.

Full attention and awareness on the sex organ now.

Noticing what happens in your experience as you bring your attention fully and completely to your sex organ.

Traveling up the body into the stomach.

Complete awareness on the stomach now.

Noticing any sensations or even emotions that arise as you enter this area of your body.

What is your stomach trying to communicate to you right now?

Are you listening?

Bring your attention to the stomach.

Stay with the stomach.

Gently pulling your attention away from the stomach to the lower back.

Full awareness and attention on the lower back now.

What type of experience is your lower back offering you right now?

Welcoming it as it is.

Not trying to change anything.

Being with the sensation as it arrives and meets you in this moment.

Now moving to the chest.

Full awareness on the chest now.

Breathing deeper into a state of awareness.

Offering complete presence to the chest now.

Surrendering yourself to the chest.

Now coming up to the shoulders.

Meeting your shoulders with complete presence and awareness.

Witnessing any sensations your shoulders are offering you in this moment.

Now entering the jaw.

Full and total awareness on the jaw now.

What is your jaw communicating to you right now?

From the jaw to the tongue.

Noticing any tension that you may be holding in the tongue.

Where is your tongue sitting in your mouth?

All attention and awareness directed towards the tongue now.

Moving our attention to our eyes.

Noticing the sensations in our eyes.

Noticing the eyelids closed over the eyes.

The warmth this provides the eyeball.

Choosing to meet any sensations,

Any tension,

Any stress that we are carrying in our eyes.

We choose to meet it now.

Allowing it to release.

As we feel it,

We heal it.

Now drawing your attention to the space between your eyebrows.

This third eye chakra.

All attention and awareness drawn to the third eye chakra.

Noticing any sensations you experience when drawing your attention to the third eye.

Meeting all sensations with complete acceptance.

And lastly,

Drawing your attention to the top of your head.

What sensations do you notice from the top of your head?

Does it feel expansive?

Does it feel constricted?

Just witnessing and observing.

Allowing all sensations to be present in this moment.

Now focusing on the whole body.

Whole body sensation.

What does it feel like to be in your body right now?

What movement would feel good to make right now?

I want you to visualize yourself making that movement.

Allowing the mind's eye to create movement for the body.

Bringing the mind and body into complete connection with one another.

We're now going to move into the process of trust.

Offering our body trust.

The body possesses a very deep intelligence.

The body doesn't require us to do much.

We feed the body.

We give the body liquids.

And the body takes care of much of our process.

Many of us have learned to mistrust our body.

We feel our body has let us down.

In this moment we restore trust for our body through openness.

Letting your body lead the way in this moment.

We let go of trying to control this moment and we trust our body to do as it needs to do in this moment.

For full release and embodiment to take place.

Take a moment and offer your body complete and total trust in this moment.

Give it the space to be as it is without trying to change it.

Perhaps noticing what your body is trying to communicate to you right now.

Maybe it wants movement.

Maybe it wants to make a sound.

How often do you withhold allowing your body to make sounds?

Due to shame or embarrassment or the social programming we have been told about what's acceptable and what's not.

We deny our body its ability to communicate to us and to the world around it.

Because we're often afraid of what others might think of us.

In this moment let that all go.

If your body feels like making a sound right now I encourage you to allow it to make that sound right now.

A big part of trust is our intuition.

Our intuition is a deep connection.

A focused attention on the part of your body that guides you.

It's a deep inner knowing.

Where in your body do you get communicated to letting you know that you're on the right path.

You're in alignment.

Where does your deep inner knowing come from?

Your gut instinct.

Maybe it is your gut.

Maybe it's your chest.

Maybe it's your third eye.

Your pelvis.

Your solar plexus.

Wherever this part is in your body I want you to give attention to that spot in your body right now.

Drawing all of your focus all of your attention to this spot in your body.

Cultivating deep intuition and connection to your body now.

What does it feel like to give attention to this part of your body now?

Noticing any emotions or sensations that come up for you as you draw your attention to this part of your body now.

As we move deeper and deeper into this authentic and embodied place within us.

We often come up against layers.

Layers of thoughts,

Sensations,

Feelings.

This is where the trauma is also stored in our bodies.

In these layers.

Each experience that we've had whether it be an adverse childhood experience or a pleasant experience is put on in a layer in our being.

When we do this deep inner work we move through these layers.

It is when we meet these layers instead of pushing them away or running away from the layers.

When we meet them we move emotional energy.

This allows us to clear any blocks we may have in our body that are denying us inner peace in our minds.

The mind eats off of these layers.

It feeds off of these layers.

It is our responsibility to meet them in total present moment awareness so they can be released.

When they are released the mind has nothing to eat anymore.

It stops ruminating.

It settles into itself.

It finds inner peace.

Let's move through a layer right now together.

I want you to allow any thoughts in this moment that want to come up to come up.

It might be thoughts that you have on the regular about yourself or about the world around you.

I want you to allow these to start flooding your experience.

Open up the gate.

We're just letting these thoughts go.

Letting them run wild.

You may notice in this experience that there are no thoughts coming.

If this is the case this means you are in complete present moment awareness.

Thoughts can't exist in present moment awareness.

This is the lesson of this activity.

When we let the thoughts go and stop trying to control them and draw our attention away from the thoughts to the refuge which is our body,

We notice that the thoughts begin to dissipate.

This allowance is the key to this process.

We have to be willing to allow the thoughts,

Allow the sensations and allow the feelings to be with us.

Once we do,

They release.

They move on.

They are just energy.

Next layer focusing on the sensations that are speaking to you right now.

Scan your whole body in this moment.

What sensations are present for you?

Invite them in with your full presence.

And the final layer,

Any emotions that you are noticing in your body right now.

Taking a full scan of your emotional body,

Being present and offering space for your emotions to come forward right now.

This is how we hold space for ourselves.

Giving your body permission to show you the emotions that are ready to move on.

Your body has this wisdom,

This intelligence and it's up to us to give it attention and space to be able to do what it does best.

Ask the mind to take a back seat right now.

It is not needed in this moment.

In the stillness you are safe.

In the stillness you are free.

In the stillness you are coming home to yourself.

In the stillness you are safe.

In the stillness you are free.

In the stillness you are coming home to yourself.

In the stillness you are safe.

In the stillness you are free.

In the stillness you are coming home to yourself.

In the stillness you are safe.

In the stillness you are free.

In the stillness you are coming home to yourself.

And so it is.

Now bringing your awareness back to your whole body,

Acknowledging any energy or emotions that have moved throughout the course of this guided meditation.

When you are ready,

Open your eyes.

Making this new found connection to yourself into your day where you can honor and nurture it.

I would like to thank you for joining me on this journey inward.

Have a beautiful day and don't forget to lift your cheekbones.

Brilliant. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone. The teacher offers us space to truly connect to what our bodies are teaching us without trying to change it. It is freeing to allow oneself to just be what we are in any given moment. And listening to the wisdom of the body is like cultivating our superpower towards healing and self love. Beautiful and very comprehensive.
