Hello,
And welcome to this guided meditation.
Let's begin by connecting with the breath.
Take a nice,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Just allow your body to relax and your mind to settle.
Taking some nice breaths in through the nose.
And you can exhale out through the mouth with the mouth open,
Maybe even letting out some audible sighs to release some tension.
That's great.
And let's do just another round of breath that way.
Inhale through the nose,
Nice,
Slow,
Steady inhale.
And exhale,
Let it out gently,
But fully out through the mouth with the mouth open,
Even letting out a little bit of a sigh if that feels good for you.
And now,
I'll ring the singing bowl.
Notice the sound of the singing bowl arising in your awareness.
There's a tendency to think that the sound you are hearing is out there and that you are,
From your own point of view,
Over here,
Hearing that sound from a distance.
But now ask yourself,
From your direct experience,
Is there really a distance between the sound and your awareness of it?
Can you find a gap between the sound of the singing bowl and the awareness in which it appears?
As you listen,
Notice how the sound is not separate from your awareness.
It appears directly within it.
There is no space between the sound of the singing bowl and your awareness that hears it.
I invite you to let go of the idea that the sound is,
Quote,
Over there and you are,
Quote,
Over here.
Instead,
Recognize that both the sound and your awareness of them are one,
Inseparable in your direct experience.
The sound doesn't travel to you.
It arises and is known instantly within your awareness.
As the sound of the singing bowl fades,
Notice that the awareness in which the sound appeared is still here,
Unchanged,
Open,
And present.
The sound came and went,
But the awareness remained constant,
Holding both the presence and the absence of the sound.
Rest in this awareness,
And notice how everything,
The sounds of singing bowls,
The sensations of your body,
And even thoughts,
They all arise within this same field of your awareness.
They are not separate from it.
They are expressions of it.
You are this awareness,
Boundless like the clear space of the sky,
Silent and still,
And ever-present.
In this awareness that is always here,
Always present,
Whether sounds arise or fade,
Whether thoughts come or go,
There is no need to search for this awareness.
It is what you are,
Always present,
Effortlessly knowing each and every experience.
Now,
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Feel yourself grounded in this moment.
Slowly bring your attention back to your surroundings,
Still aware that everything,
Your body,
The sounds in the room,
And the space around you,
Arises in this same awareness.
As you open your eyes,
Carry this recognition with you.
That awareness,
Your true nature,
Is constant,
Whether your eyes are open or closed,
Whether sounds are heard or silent.
Everything is appearing within this space of awareness.
When you are ready,
Gently bring movement back into your body and rejoin the room,
Knowing that this awareness is never separate from you.
