So let's start gently breathing through our nostrils,
Feeling the air,
Is it fresh,
Is it warm?
Now let's move down to our chest,
To our belly and our knees,
Seeing and feeling how the belly contracts and expands as we breathe let's be thankful for the breath your love just keeping us alive if you want to close your eyes or if they're already closed so we think of the air as something invisible,
Untouchable but it's there,
We rely on it even in the most subconscious ways we don't spend our days thinking about it but if we pause,
Breathe,
We really start to sense the deeper importance of it so the way we act,
It's very connected to the way we breathe and our breathing selves is a part of us that we are not always in tune with if you try to force your breathing,
What happens?
You're just aware that you're breathing it's kind of incredible that we can sit in low or no motion and just breathe the great spirit,
The air and everything is just here and the way we sense our emotions at this moment is just the past creating towards the future so let's make a gentle acknowledgement of how beautiful it is to be here so our natural being and selves are intrinsically connected to the breath the breath is ultimately what keeps everything moving inside of our existence,
In our bodies essentially is primary,
Our own source of life so let's make a gentle acknowledgement of that so our natural being and selves are intrinsically connected to the breath So,
If we smoke,
You know tobacco used to be a very holy ceremony of connecting to God.
It doesn't cease to be a connection just because it's mainstream and commercialized.
Just need more reverence to it.
So if we smoke,
We're probably very self-conscious about how the breath may not be exactly as it should.
Doesn't mean it's true.
A lot of illness comes from the lack of reverence.
So,
Today as I'm recording this,
It's the day after Christmas.
And Christmas is a holy day.
It's not only one of the birth of one of the most important persons that ever existed,
But also the day of community,
Of family,
Of embracing the spirit of joy and of happiness.
Or it's supposed to be.
Isn't always like that.
Unfortunately it's also one of the most sad days in existence where people feel most lonely.
The holy ceremonies we do should bring us closer to a sense of loving awareness,
But they don't always do that.
So sitting and breathing on a day like this,
It's holy too.
It's a way to connect to the holiness of life itself.
So whichever day you're listening to this,
You can consider your moment holy.
Because through breathing,
Through your breathing self,
You're connecting to the great spirit.
Suffering can bring misfortune to our perception.
Sometimes things are fine,
But our perception and then the way we react to our perceptions may lead us to paths of unforgiving and behavior and sad thoughts,
Angry thoughts or feelings,
Despair,
Hopelessness.
So we are never alone.
Never.
Great spirit is always with us.
Love is the antidote for suffering.
So sitting gently and breathing is a source of love.
It's a way to loving ourselves,
Taking care of ourselves,
Laying down and just feeling the breath.
So being ourselves and our breathing selves can remind us of belonging.
And that's what really sitting in meditation is about,
Really.
Reasonably that's it,
But it's much more,
Isn't it?
If we feel abandoned or if we feel neglected,
Our emotions,
Our personalities,
Who we are,
Might just be lack of presence,
Right?
When we are present for ourselves,
We want to be present for others.
So our breathing selves become this important part.
So I collect rocks and I have this little game I play.
If everything is going to be alright,
I'm going to find a rock which has this shape or that shape,
And I usually do.
And if I'm meant to do that,
I'm going to find that rock.
I have a beautiful collection that I think I'm probably the only person in my life who really appreciates it.
Someone says,
But there's rocks everywhere!
I have little jars for my rocks.
So there's this childish tendency we have of bringing about something from our childhoods.
For me it was collecting rocks for other people might be other things.
But it's connecting to the breathing self because it is when I go on my walks and I have to breathe and breathe the natural air full of wonderful smells of nature that I become appreciative of the little rocks and their shapes,
Sizes,
And colors.
And the excitement of finding a blue quartz was amazing.
The breathing self is always present,
Keeping us alive,
Which is to say,
Who is the breathing self?
You know,
I don't mind to be,
To feel tiny in the grand cosmos,
In the grand scheme of things,
But I do wish I could reach as many people as possible to tell them that they are loved.
They are true,
Pure,
Honest love.
And in a way my breathing self and my collecting rocks is in tandem with that mission.
Because I do every individual rock,
It shows me a path,
It shows me an individual rock,
Which is beauty.
And who says a little rock can show you love?
So let's breathe,
Sit or lay down,
Eyes closed.
Breathing through our nostrils.
And gently,
Very,
Very gently,
Be.
And let's give our Faster mandated thoughtful Pearl down.
Ense.
Cleaned off our72.
And just sinks outside and galaxy.
Thank you for listening.
You can open your eyes and feel yourself back into your room.
