Meditation on Releasing Chronic Pain You are not here by accident.
You are here by Divine appointment.
Breathe deeply.
Experience completely.
And feel freely.
For this meditation,
We'll begin with the feeling,
The pain,
And then just observing,
Just being curious.
And then we will develop a strategy and create an affirmation to help you with chronic pain.
First,
You will need to experience some type of sensation,
Either physically in the body or emotionally in the heart.
Go ahead.
Feel it.
This is one time that you do want to feel the pain.
Explore your pain.
What does it feel like?
Is it a tight sensation?
A burning sensation?
Tingling?
How does your body feel?
How does your heart feel?
Is it widespread?
Or is it in just one place?
Does it feel the same everywhere or stronger in some parts than in others?
No judgment here.
Just experience it.
Observe these sensations going on in your body.
At this point,
You are not changing it.
You are just watching,
Noticing,
And exploring from a place of lightness and curiosity.
Do this for a few moments.
As you pay attention to the sensation in your body,
What do you notice?
Does it intensify?
Does it change in quality?
Does it move around?
Whatever it does,
It is okay.
And remember,
You are safe and your brain is just misinterpreting messages coming from your body.
Again,
Just observing for a few moments.
Be genuinely curious with these sensations and remember you are safe.
Always reminding yourself that you are safe.
Now that you feel safe,
Explore some strategies that you can employ when you experience the pain,
Either physical or emotional,
And then listen to your inner voice.
What is one strategy that you can remember?
When confronted with the pain of the mind or heart,
Allow yourself to embrace your strategy.
Examples could be if your back hurts when you are sitting,
Stand up.
Taking a hot bath when having a headache or talking to a friend when upset.
Take a moment now to think about your strategy and try to commit it to memory.
Once you have your strategy,
Commit to memory,
Let us create some affirmations.
I will suggest a few.
You can pick what you want,
Leave what you don't,
Or come up with your own.
But now,
Allow my words to become your words and affirm with me.
This sensation is only temporary.
I have something I can do when I feel this pain.
I move on and I am safe.
Within my own mind,
I know I am safe and I can move on from my pain.
I know that I can come to this feeling at any time that I need and I rest into the knowing that I am free of chronic pain,
Either of the mind or of the heart.
Know that this is deeply personal work and that you are worth every minute of time you spend putting towards your healing.
Rest into this feeling of safety and embrace your affirmations,
Perhaps even creating your own to commit to memory.
You might even want to write it down.
Allow yourself to breathe in,
Letting go of the pain,
Embracing your strategy,
Your affirmation,
And your knowing that this is only temporary.
And you now have some place to put this pain and you are safe.
Come back to this practice as often as necessary and you will see a difference.
Now,
Allow your attention to come around behind your eyes.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Take a deep,
Delicious breath.
Come back to the room where you are and open your eyes when you are ready.
