Hello!
This is Mary Teresa and today's affirmation is on writing your own affirmation to help you with the journey that you are on.
My meditations are written and delivered with love.
In January of 2024,
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease,
A movement disorder with no current,
No cure,
But it can be lived with for a very long time.
At first I thought I would not be able to record anymore because it is difficult for me to find the right word or words,
And sometimes I simply cannot recall the idea I am trying to voice,
And sometimes the details are hard for me to write down.
However,
With deep introspection and help from my friends,
Thank you Team True,
I have determined that if I can reach even if only a few,
I still want to give meditations.
My hope is that with this meditation,
If you have Parkinson's,
A caregiver,
Or have a movement disorder,
Even any kind of no hope or low hope disease,
You can check in with yourself and create affirmations about positive feelings that will assist you with coping with these afflictions.
Meditation is designed for you to include your mind,
Body,
And spirit into the whole being of who you are.
While guided meditations are a wonderful support and a great place to start,
Silent meditations are where most of your work will be completed.
Brain research shows us that all three,
Mind,
Body,
And spirit,
Need to be included for these affirmations to help you on your journey.
Your mind needs to understand,
That's the knowledge,
So that your body can feel the emotions.
What spirit is desiring for you to believe in,
That's the belief.
When spirit and mind are working together,
We become aware in our bodies of the benefit of the beliefs we carry.
I know for me,
With my movement disorder,
I must really work through my breath and focus on calming my body to alleviate stiffness and physical discomfort.
I know that peace will come when I fully understand my personal beliefs.
Let's begin the meditation.
You are not here by accident,
You are here by divine appointment.
Breathe deeply,
Experience completely,
And feel freely.
You may like to have your journal and a pen nearby,
As you will most likely want to write down some of this for you to remember and use in future meditations and prayer times.
Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting up or laying down.
Comfort is extremely important,
So find your pillows,
Your blankets and covers,
And rest into your meditation space.
I'll give you a few moments.
We will begin our practice focusing on individual matters,
And let you listen to the spirit within.
With a suggestion of focus,
You will choose a short affirmation that will help you navigate your journey.
Let's begin with the breath.
When first teaching meditation,
Especially to teenagers that didn't understand how the breath is so important,
I've used a simple comparison to help understand the benefits of the breath.
Now let's take a deep breath in through the nose,
As if breathing in a delightful fragrance of a wonderful,
Beautiful flower.
Hold that scent in so you can fully enjoy it.
Now release the in-breath by freeing it through pursed lips,
As if you're blowing out a candle on your birthday cake.
Experience as much time as possible so you can enjoy the feeling of your wish coming true.
Allow your out-breath to be much longer than your in-breath,
As this signals the brain to open up to your individual need and help you focus on the healing you are seeking.
If dealing with a chronic disease or a caregiver have a movement disorder,
Something that is reoccurring or receiving,
Or maybe you're even recovering from a stroke,
This simple meditation will allow you to claim an affirmation for you to focus on while experiencing your revival journey of healing.
May you restore your mind,
Body,
And spirit with ease and grace.
Take time to inhale,
Smell the flower,
Exhale,
Blow out that candle,
And let that out-breath be much longer than your in-breath,
Allowing the brain to come open up and hear any messages coming your way.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
One more time.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Make sure you're comfortable.
What is something that you want to focus on?
Do you have a question or topic where you want an inspiration?
You might like to write the focus question down.
Keep it simple,
Something like,
What is my next step?
Help me understand.
What is the best direction for me now?
Listen for your question.
Write it down.
Allow some time and silence right now to have you come up with your question.
Ask your spirit guides.
Ask God.
Ask the universe.
Whatever it is for you,
Ask your question.
And write it down.
Now,
Ask God,
Ask the universe,
Or ask your spirit to assist you in the answer.
Know that you will receive guidance in the silence.
It does not matter what chronic condition you are facing.
You will hear what you need.
Take time to listen.
Take time to feel.
Take time in the silence,
And I will meet you on the other side.
Take notes if you need.
Now you have your question.
You've listened for an answer.
And I'm wondering,
What words have you heard today?
What have you felt?
Give a voice to those words.
It could be something like hope,
Rest,
Simplicity,
Perhaps grateful,
Receive,
Movement.
Something like clarity.
What words have you heard today?
Now,
Focusing on those words,
Tap into what feelings you have.
And listen and feel your feelings.
What did you feel today?
Try to name the feelings.
Love,
Trust,
Frustration,
Sad,
Perhaps mad,
Maybe glad,
Hopeful.
Are you ready for a change?
This is about you,
And you select.
Write down.
This is the process of creating your affirmation.
Write down your feelings that you feel.
What are you hearing from your question?
Now,
Take those words and feelings and create affirmations made just for yourself.
Often affirmations begin with the words,
I am,
And are followed with what you want to draw into yourself.
For example,
I am ready to receive.
I am whole and live at peace.
I live simply and claim comfort.
I receive the hope,
Love,
And compassion that is mine.
Spend time in the silence again to create your affirmation in the silence.
Be sure to write these words down,
Your feelings and your ideas,
And then a simple sentence you can comfortably repeat as needed.
I'll meet you on the other side.
Now,
Be sure that you've been able to write something down that has come to your heart,
The words that fell into your,
And help you answering the questions.
Write those down,
And you can pray on it and focus on it if you didn't get what you wanted.
But now,
Let's bring your focus around behind your eyes.
Breathe in deeply,
And on the out-breath,
Allow your fingers and toes to begin waking up,
And bring your attention to your meditation space,
And open your eyes when you are ready.
Once an affirmation came to me in a different form.
The affirmation was,
What if everything could turn out much better than you ever imagined?
This is still an affirmation,
And it gave me an inspiration when I needed it.
These are only suggestions.
By using your own words,
Created by you,
You will be experiencing what you need.
You will receive the love and wonder of the universe,
God,
Spirit,
Whatever it is for you,
When creating this for yourself.
Spend time in the quiet to meditate,
To listen,
And to feel.
Meditate,
Listen,
And feel.
While in the solitude of your own heart,
You will bring about the peace,
Love,
And compassion you are seeking.
Repeat this as much as you need,
As your heart desires.
Use your affirmations as they continue to inspire you,
And be proud of your efforts,
As this is a sign that you are moving forward.
My friends,
Know that you are important.
Know that you are blessed.
And know that you are loved.
