Close your eyes gently.

Take one slow,

Grounding breath in through your nose and exhale fully through your mouth.

Now bring your awareness to the rhythm of your own breath.

Listen to the sound it makes as it moves in and out.

No need to change it,

Just notice it.

As you settle into your breath,

Begin to notice the music in the background.

Let it hold you.

Let it ground you.

Now,

Stretch your awareness outward.

What is one sound you can hear far in the distance?

Let it remind you how far your awareness can reach,

Both inward and outward.

Now,

From this place of awareness,

Picture yourself in a conversation with someone you care about.

Imagine truly listening,

Not to respond,

But to understand.

You're present with their tone,

Their eyes,

Their energy.

You're listening for what matters most.

Now,

Bring your mind to a time where you felt that kind of presence.

When someone really heard you,

Where were you?

What made you feel so deeply understood?

Let yourself soak in that memory.

What did you learn from that moment?

How did being heard change you?

Now,

Shift your focus outward again,

And imagine yourself offering that same presence to someone else today.

Now,

Listening beneath the words,

Hearing what matters,

Letting curiosity and compassion guide you.

With your hand on your heart,

Repeat silently,

I listen to others to understand what really matters.

Let the words settle in your body.

Feel the energy of empathy expanding in you.

And take a final deep breath in.

Exhale slowly.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Clear,

Grounded,

And open to deeper connection.

True listening builds bridges,

And it starts with presence.

You got this.

This is a really nice, short and easy reminder to focus on what is important to others. When I remember to do this it goes deeper as I find I understand myself better and feel more understood by others. It serves as a ripple effect every time I remember to focus on others this way, it is very rewarding. Thank you 😊
