There is so much to love about this recording, and its swirly, ethereal, soaring upliftment speaks to the ineffable feeling of being swept to the clouds and far away by the enormous pull of new love. Or is it instead perhaps about a forever bond; that felt experience with a longtime, devoted, irreplaceable soulmate who’s been there through thin and thick?

One element that I was dearly hoping for was a huge, solid, continuous bass tone to undergird the piece—say, during its second half. It would’ve lent a touch more central gravity, finished fullness, throbbing resonance and heightened emotion to the already glorious and dizzying mids and highs that were in place.

But, perhaps I’ve been listening to too much Hans Zimmer of late.
Maybe I was subconsciously affected by the superb, intense, bass- and percussion-soaked soundtrack to this summer’s epic film “The Odyssey.”

Perhaps it’s just because I just really favor low bass tones—especially when they’re used in, say, instrumental music, or sound therapy.

(At last; I finally have the right equipment to reproduce these low frequencies and synthesized tones with accuracy and fidelity, which makes them—and thus the entire work—all the more delicious and satisfying.)

So, maybe…never mind my suggestion.
It’s your piece.
