Welcome to this meditation on self love,
Reconnecting with your purest self.
In this meditation you will revisit a very old part of yourself,
One that you might not have met for a very long time.
Maybe the last time you connected with it was when you were a very young child.
That's when we had our purest,
Most innocent,
Free from pollution of other people's judgements,
Their world views,
How they perceive themselves,
Things we hear in media,
Certain cultural constructs we grew up within,
Some religious views maybe that don't serve you.
Back to a time where all you had was your curiosity and spontaneity,
When your senses were still sharp and listening to your intuition was natural,
But you were all instinct.
And in the moment,
This is the free child in you that we all have,
But sometimes it's hiding away.
So make yourself comfortable.
You might sit,
Be lying.
Wherever you are,
Try to get that little bit more comfortable.
Take three deep breaths.
If you notice any tension in your body,
Just imagine this tension leaving your body every time you breathe out.
And as your breathing resumes its natural rhythm,
Imagine yourself in a beautiful place that might be an actual place or a place in your imagination.
Somewhere you feel safe,
Somewhere beautiful.
And notice what is around you in that place.
Do you notice any sounds?
What colours are there?
Can you feel the sun on your skin?
Or maybe a light breeze?
And as you are there,
You notice not far from your little child plane,
It's exploring the surroundings,
It's looking at things,
It's touching them.
And as it's getting closer,
You notice that it's your own self,
Your younger self.
What do you notice about your younger self?
Can you reach out?
Maybe your fingertips can touch.
Maybe you can sit together.
Allow this child to tell you a story about its dreams and its wishes and its hopes.
And meet them with a voice on unconditional acceptance and optimism.
What were you hoping for growing up?
Who did you want to become?
Tell yourself that it's okay to be you.
It's okay to have fun.
You are successful.
And it's also okay to experiment and make mistakes.
You are important.
And your needs are important.
You are living life fully.
And your own thoughts matter.
It's okay to be emotionally close to others.
And you can protect yourself.
And wherever you are,
It's okay for you to be here.
And as you are saying these permissions and affirmations to yourself,
Give yourself that promise to be that nurturing parent.
When you reach out to that child,
Will the child take your hand?
As you are there holding hands,
You are embarking on a new journey together.
It's exciting.
When you are ready,
Open your eyes.
Namaste.
